one of my friends recently found out she was pregnant, and so far haven't been able to come up with a possible girl name(they already have the boy name picked out). she doesn't want it to be weird, but she doesn't want it to be common.
hit me with some of your favorite or coolest names for a girl...GO!
becca, we have the same tastes! i love old-fashioned names. my mom's mom's name was sophie and i love it. my dad's mom's name was hattie, i like it but that might be too old-fashioned. when i was a kid i always said i'd name my daughter ivory rose. well i'm never having kids so...

Mika (my daughter's name). It means "small, wise raccoon" in Inuit. It's also the name of a British pop singer whose repertoire includes the songs "Lollipop" and "Big Girls (You Are Beautiful)" (my daughter's favorite).
But have her check out the Top 100 (or 500) lists from the past couple of years. Aim for a name that's not in the top 50 and she'll be able to find one she likes. A friend of mine always liked the name Olivia because it's pretty but different. Well, different from the Jennifer/Jessica/Elizabeths that we grew up with, now it's one of the most popular names.
Dorothy Irene Jessica Sarah Rebekah Ashley Rose Nichole
I actually have a friend who just named her daughter Sally but I also have a friend who named her daughter Chime (after calling her Inshallah for the forst 3-4 months of her life)
page. (paige) after the greatest guitar god of all time!! (IMO) thats the only girl name i can agree on so thats what i'm going with. if i ever have kids of course.

i have the whole "everybody has my name" problem. i'm a rachel and there had to be at least 40 of us in my high school class, i shutter to think how many were in the entire school. i got to where i would only respond to my last name.

i worked at a summer camp in 05. there were FOUR ashley's on summer staff. two of them were ashley nicole, and me and another girl were ashley elizabeth. ridiculous really.
i was suppose to be a rebecca b/c my middle name is joan (pronounced jo-ann, yea i know it's not spelled that way but it's a family name) and my mom wanted to call me becky jo but my dad wasn't having any of that. i think it's a beautiful name (rebecca, not so sure about the becky jo part)
