um, I work with a girl named Ariane. Her parents seriously had no idea that it would sound like she was a Nazi, they just thought it was pretty and different.
Ugh, people actually name their KIDS Precious?! I'm in shock. I met so many dogs and cats with that stupid name while working as a vet tech. I can't believe people name their kids Precious! I'm in shock. Sadie is a very popular name for dogs, BTW. And Cali is very popular for cats. Just an FWI to consider when naming children. However, I must admit that I am taking notes from this thread while considering what to name the two baby rats I'll be getting in a few weeks. I'm thinking I'll name them after Beatles' songs since I just watched Across the Universe.
I'm in my OB clinicals still... last day is tomorrow :-( There's a wall for parents to leave their babies footprint, name and date of birth before they leave the hospital. Some of the names are pretty scary.
9 times out of 10 when i meet someone new they say "OH! thats my dog's name! or something along that line. i love my name... but damn, if i hear that one more time i'm gonna flip out. hahah

I went to high school with a girl named Daiquiri. Seriously, don't name your children after alcoholic beverages, people.
LOL thats horrible!!
my cousin is named Tequilla. For real, lol. When she was growing up in school though, she went by her middle name, Shalette. But now that she's grown (she's older than me.. like, 24 or so) she goes by Tequilla.. fitting because she's as cock tail waitress at a casino! lol
Claire Standish: What's your name? John Bender: What's yours? Claire Standish: Claire. John Bender: Claire? Claire Standish: Claire. It's a family name. John Bender: Oh, it's a fat girl's name. Claire Standish: Oh, thank you. John Bender: You're welcome. Claire Standish: I'm not fat. John Bender: Well not at present, but I can see you really pushing maximum density. See I'm not sure if you know this, but there are two kinds of fat people: there's fat people that were born to be fat, and there's fat people that were once thin but became fat... so when you look at 'em you can sorta see that thin person inside. You see, you're gonna get married, you're gonna squeeze out a few puppies and then, uh...

In an odd bit of coincidence, Tequila also happens to be the name of the heroine's mother in the book I just finished last night, Neal Stephenson's The Diamond Age.

I like Elizabeth, Katherine, Nicole, Emily, Alison, Ashley...
haha...
Elizabeth is my middle name, Katherine is the to-be mommy's name, Emily is Katherine's middle name, and my first name is Ashley
i like the way you think
My cousin's name is Katherine Grace. We call her Katie-Grace for short...I like it. Not as typical as the other something-Grace names you hear. My best friend is Katherine Susanne. I also have a great aunt Katherine...
Needless to say, I will probably have Katherine in there somewhere, haha.

One of my colleagues is working with a woman named Loretta Martin. I can't hear the name without thinking of the one in "Get Back"
Edit: Sweet Loretta Martin thought she was a woman, but she was another man. All the girls around her said, "She's got it coming," but she gets it while she can.
i like these names: Rayne (my fave) Mackenzie Skye/Skylar Shania (way too close to my name to ever use myself tho) Shooter (guess more of a boys name tho since its waylon jennings sons name but i like it for a girl IMO) Ceirah (pronounced sarah) Madison (super popular lately tho) Ty
Whoever said Penny Lane is reading my mind. A few semesters ago I made a list of kids names when I was in class and that was one. Another was Optimus Prime though so we're probably not on the same wave length. I just think a kid named Optimus Prime would be a badass. BADASS!
