F*cking YAY!!!!! Had my first 6 pack of Punkin' Ale last night. I love Septmber. Also tried a sampler of Bear Republic that was great. The Tribute Brown was just tasty.
On a side note ... looks like I'm making that Yazoo trip next week. Any Nashvillian Inforoosters wanna watch me get nutsy?
When are you here? I go most days it is open, but I am out of town for a festie this weekend.
I had the good fortune to sample this delicious beverage on my recent trip to California. A sour blonde ale, aged in Chardonnay barrels, from my favorite brewery, Russian River.
Beer fans, if you're ever in San Francisco, be sure to hit up Toronado Pub. One of the best beer bars I've ever been to.

damn that looks nice. Flying Dog is where it's at. so good. and the artist who does the bottle artwork is the guy that did fear and loathing.
great beer. and i believe on the box it tells you if its,
^^ Oh I'm wicked excited about this! It's gonna be a great few days in the city this weekend. And that hepls alot. I'm actually fond of Greenpoint but never have a reason to wander there. Plus all that beer?!?! Gonna be a great night out for sure.
Flying Dog is my go to beer at the grocery store near us. It's the only micro brew they carry. We just got a 6 pack of the Dogtober Fest. I honestly havnt tried it yet. Soon though. I'll let you know.
I've been sipping on this as of late.
I know. I know. It's not THE Sweetwater but it's a really good Pumpkin Ale. If your around DC I fully suggest hitting up the Brewery there. The Sweetwater Tavern. They sell growlers. Becareful with that though. I forget it's almost a six pack. ;D www.greatamericanrestaurants.com/sweetmainster/

I like Flying Dog... but some of it doesn't really do it for me. Like the Imperial Porter (not a big porter guy) and the normal Pale Ale has a kind of odd taste. Tirebite doesn't do it for me either.
But, Double Dog (it's like and imperial pale ale)... oh my God. What a magnificent beer.
Plus their Snake IPA is good as well... kind of overpriced (all of their stuff) but it's easy to find, accessible, and better than average. Good brand.

So, I met up with Garageland and had some good beer yesterday. My favorers were the Gulden Draak, Joe Mamma's Stout, and the Maple Oat by Peak Organic. I also had Souther Tier's Un-Earthly IPA which was good, but a bit strong of an IPA for my liking. There was also a Oktoberfest, but not sure who made it. Overall, this was a good deal the sample sizes were plentiful (80z) I will do this again if they have it next year.
I like the Un-Earthly IPA... it is a bit strong though, allot of people I know don't care for it.
Tell me about it. I was trying to get something a little weaker than the Goulden Draak (10%) and I followed up with the Southern Tier which is 11%. Doh
The festival was alot of fun. The Brewery before hand was what did me in. Seriously. I'll be raving about the Brooklyn Blast till I get a bottle. 8.5% ... shouldn't have had that 3rd glass, or the Local Reserve 2 & 3 at 9%.

There is a local brewery named Bells in Kalamazoo. Anything from there is fantastic. They brew a local favorite during the summer called Oberon. It is extremely popular all over the southern half of Michigan. It is seasonal though, so us Michiganders have to enjoy while it lasts.
I am drinking Brooklyn's Black Chocolate Stout. A bit on the strong side with alcohol, but still very yummy. Has a subtle coffee taste mixed with chocolate of course.
I've been taking full advantage of my favorite seasonal, Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale.
Hopefully, I can get tired of it, buy a shit ton and save it throughout the year... good luck on any of that, though. I seriously love this beer too much to not drink it if it's around.
It's only been six or seven decades since we ended Prohibition, so it makes perfect sense that Wisconsin's New Glarus Spotted Cow is being smuggled in this day & age...
