a few of my favs:
Troegenator, by Troegs brewery. Probably the best beer I've ever had. Oh, and it's 8.2% alcohol... so it'll getchya drunk!
Quoted for its truthiness. Troegs is awesome. Harrisburg reprazent!! If you can find Nugget Nectar, that stuff is good. The Mad Elf is only around at Christmastime, but it's even stronger than the Troegenator.

Currently sipping an American Red I brewed a little over a year agor. It hasn't aged particularly well, probably since it's only about 4.5% ABV, but It's kinda nostalgic since it was the first beer I brewed. I just got a kegging setup and kegged a Negra Modelo clone a few days ago, and will probably keg an Apricot IPA tonight. Anybody else on the board brew their own beer?
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
i myself recently got into Birra Meretti's La Rossa (a dopplebock) its very tasty... a little italian sandwich shop by school has em for $3, and $5 for a sammich!

Speaking of Samual Smith, if you haven't had it yet, you need to try some of Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout. Deffiently one of my favorite stouts.
Victory....from Downingtown, PA. That V12 is a mean motherquacker. The 12 is for 12%. As in you'll only have 12% of your walking and standing ability left after you consume a large bottle or 2 of that stuff.
OK, may be hard pressed to find this. It's only out for a short time, but it's wonderful stuff. It's brewed by Abita Brewing Company out of Abita Springs, Louisiana. This seasonal brew is called Abita Strawberry Lager. They use fresh Ponchatatula strawberries (Ponchatula is the self-proclaimed strawberry capital of the world-while they may be "self-proclaimed" they do a pretty damn good job with them. The strawberry festival they have every year is phenomenal) Anyway, some people find the beer is a bit too heavy with the strawberry flavor, me I don't. I find it more as an aftertaste, that lingers in your mouth. Nothing overpowering. If you can find this anywhere, be sure to pick it up because it's only out as long as strawberry season lasts, which is about 3 months I believe.

I'll drink most any beer and like it, but I'm partial to the Belgians -- Chimay, Duvel, any of the Deliriums. My latest discovery is Fat Tire and I can't find it in the Northeast. Wah.
Funny story...when I moved to Philadelphia in the 80s, we went to dinner at a Chinese restaurant. I asked the waiter what beer they offered and he rattled off the list. I ordered aYuengling...thinking it was Ying Ling, a Chinese beer. Pfffffffffft. I'm an idiot.

They have that at my favorite bar that I frequent....I may need to try it!
I think my problem with beer is that it's really bitter, and I don't like things that are super bitter. It's like I almost expect drinks to be sweet. I mean, I like hard ciders, so you'd think I could drink beer but no...
So pale ales maybe might help? Not wheat beer but something pale? Also, I know I don't like heavy beer...hard for me to drink.

go with the fruity beers if you can find them, such as the Abita Strawberry, Blue Moon, Leinekugel's Berry Weiss (this taste like Fruity Pebbles cereal, no lie) and beers along this nature. If you can find Lindemans, they have wonderful fruity beers as well, they have Strawberry, Peach, and Apple.

Some please give me tips on how to learn to drink and enjoy beer. I try and try and try, and every time, I can't drink it. I need help. I WANT to learn how to drink beer, I just have no idea It's depressing when I go to a bar, order a really nice beer, and can't drink it!!
you could start with a few irish carbombs, and once youve acquired the taste for it try it without the shot or without chugging the guinness...thats how i started to like guinness and now its my favorite beer

Ahhh! Leinekugel's Berry Weiss, my favorite breakfast beer! Great way to start your day, not something you'd want to down a whole six of but one or two on game day morning, not bad...

i completely agree, only i prefer leinekugel's sunset wheat. you are dead on about not wanting to down a whole sixer though.
Leinenkugels is great too can't stand Belgians tho... love Fat Tire... not a very good representation of a belgian if you ask me... i've had a few other New Belgian Brewing Co's that i really liked too... just really dislike Ommegang, Chimay, etc -- the big corked bombers...
I've really gotten into Oskar Blues lately - canned dank beer
