Just bought my ticket for Saturday... This will be my first time in NYC... I'm coming in early and spending the majority of the week there and then hitting APW... Wish I could see TAB on Sunday (which would solely sell me that ticket), but sadly with work I have to head back home to Cinci... Oh well, Animal Collective>Kings of Leon>Radiohead makes me a happy man
Anyone know if their line up page is set up according to act time? I am thinking of buying tickets but want to see Jack, Trey, and Grace Potter...But if the three of them play @ the same time that would be no fun!

as far as i know, there is no schedule up yet, and i agree, that would be a suckfest if they were playing at the same time. .....
^It really would be...I would need to roam between the three... Just tried to get the Sunday pass...sold out...craigslist saved me... so i guess it is official I will be there!
Wish the would announce the set times here. I am going Friday and only really familiar with Radiohead, Franti and Girl Talk (oh and Little Brother, possibly the worst live hip hop act I have ever seen). Anyone suggest anything else for Friday I can't miss.
I had an incredible time at Roo this year... BUT! if I had seen the lineup for APW before I bought my ticket to Roo, I would've gone there instead. It would have been a lot cheaper for me - NY is much closer than Tennessee, I wouldn't have had to buy a tent, sleeping bag and other camping supplies, and I could have just crashed at my brother's apartment in Chelsea.
Radiohead is one of my all-time favorite bands (top five, easily), and I'm a big fan of Jack Johnson as well. Oh yeah, The New Pornographers, Sia, Trey, The Roots, Ben Harper and Kings of Leon all get me going as well.
I hope this isn't just a one-off thing, because I'd love to go next year.

If I were going, I'd probably head over to check out Mates of State. Then again, you may not like them. Ther could be something else playing that you like better.
With that being said, I realllllly wish I was going to APW. Two nights of Radiohead would make my life. On top of that, quite a few of my other favorite bands are playing. The trip up from Louisiana is just not possible for me this year. Hope to go soon, though.
general question - what's the area of NY called where the ferry's take off from? it's near Battery Park, if that helps. and is that area sketchy or reasonably safe?

My Pops lives in Battery Park and that is probably the safest neighborhood in New York. Like anywhere else in the city, always be careful wherever you are since there are the highest percentage of crazies per capita in NYC but at night it is usually a ghost town there and I have never seen anything strange happening during the day it is mostly business people and commuters.

hehe. I knew if I posted a message that it would spur more APW posts. I REALLY REALLY want to go Saturday now but I have plans - I may just get out of them or miss part of them depending on the set times (if K'naan and Roots come on later).
Ah I am going to be in New York for the week and there is so much to do there as far as music. Hoping Questlove from the Roots does his usual DJ gig in the city after APW. Has anyone been to any of the MCcarren Pool parties? May go check out the Felice Brothers on Sunday.

You are right about that...
Wed = Kanye West @ Madison Square Garden!!!
Ok just kidding, but there are some great shows. I would love to see Does it Offend You Yeah & Bloc Party on Wednesday!
