I think this year I think Radiohead, even though they're playing on Friday, will play unopposed. In the past the main headliner of the festival has always played opposed.
Wow. Damn I fucked that post up. What I meant to say was that in the past the main headliner closes out the festival, but since this year Radiohead is playing on Friday night, I think they will play unopposed and NIN and either Wilco or Kanye will play on Sunday.
I'm 97% sure it will be just Radiohead on Friday, Rage vs. Wilco on Saturday, and Kanye vs. NIN on Sunday.
Raconteurs will probably close the main stage before Radiohead plays rather than oppose them. This is the usual format for Sundays, but Radiohead has to play Friday to allow for another show on Sunday. They're Radiohead-- they can do this. Alternatively, I could see Radiohead getting a double set and opposing Raconteurs and Black Keys or Bloc Party (much like WSP did in 05).

Just got a Lolla email with additions in it...
"Thought it couldn't get any better? Iron & Wine, Toadies, Saul Williams, DeVotchKa, Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears and Wild Sweet Orange have joined the 2008 Lolla bill. "

This really is a fantastic lineup, and the fact that the current tier of tickets is less than the first tier for Bonnaroo, I'm kinda wishing I was going there instead. Pound for pound Bonnaroo still has the best for variety and quality, but for just rock and indie rock, this lineup can't be beat.
Man, I'd so love to go to this... it's like the perfect headliners for me.
Just too much money involved, potentially... Lodging would be a bitch, travel would pretty much suck, but those three bands (Radiohead, NIN, RATM) is the best line up to any festival I've heard of, as far as headliners go.
i just got my tickets yesterday. yaaay! also reserved a spot for me and 2 buddies at the arlingtonhouse hostel for 30 bucks a night. All that's left is a plane ticket....so friggin excited!
Hey, y'all. I bought my ticket today and will be going with a group of three. All the hotels and hostels are booked solid in Chicago. Any natives know of a good hotel alternative, or an outlying city that connects to the L?

We booked a very nice condo about a mile from Grant Park via www.vrbo.com. It's not cheap, but it's an alternative. Good luck!
