The only problem is that aftershows at some of the venues have to start early due to curfew. That means I have to leave the festival early on Sunday to catch The Black Keys/The Black Angels aftershow. Boo curfew!

Does anyone have an idea how fast the shows sellout? I know there are pre-sales right now, but I need a little time to figure out which shows I want to see.Right now, here are the ones I am deciding on:
Heartless Bastards, Dead Confederate, Wax Fang The Black Keys, The Black Angels, Jessica Lea Mayfield Okkervil River, Man Man, Crooked Fingers Gnarls Barkley, CSS Conor Oberst, Jenny Lewis, M. Ward
This is just a guess, but I think TBK/TBA and the Coner Oberst shows will be the first to sell out. HotFreaks also does some shows, which will probably be Saturday...those are free and have not yet been announced. Don't underestimate how exhausted you'll be at the end of the day, especially given the heat and humidity in Austin. Last year, it was all I could do to get home, shower and then fall in to bed!
Granted it was cooler at Bonnaroo this year, but if I can run on 3 hours of sleep and hang until 4-5 am, I think I should be ok for ACL. The misses on the other hand will be in for a rude awakening. I am trying to get her outside a little more and walk to somewhat prep her for the fest.
As far the Black Keys go, I think the both of us want to go, but not sure how we will feel by Sunday, but she has made it clear she doesn't want to see FF. BTW, how long do you think the keys show will go for?

There's not a whole lotta shade at Zilker and the humidity was through the roof last year (this from a girl who grew up in the swamps of Louisiana). But if you think you can do it, more power to you!
I'm guessing the Keys' show will go 3-4 hours total. I just saw them in Chicago and I think it ran about 2 1/2 hours inclusive of the opener...but I was full of beer and can't confirm that with any certainty!
You you two going to see G.love's set as well the after show?I will at least see his regular set since I saw the Swell Season @ roo.
BTW...what does everyone's schedule look like? Here's mine:

maybe im just used to it, but i honestly do not believe the humidity is that bad here (and this coming from a guy who used to live in the desert of el paso)...for bad humidity in tx, try houston...you walk outside for like two minutes and your shirt is drenched...i dont know that i will be doing many aftershows, the only one so far that i might consider would be gnarls barkley...although, i have heard rumor that gogol will be doing one, and if thats the case i will def be there
of course, circumstances could change, and if i listen to a band at the festival and fall in love i may decide to go to an aftershow or several
Let's put it this way...at LCD Soundsystem last year, it felt like someone was simultaneously squirting me with a misting bottle AND holding a blowtorch to the back of my neck.
Edit: I hope I'm proven wrong...maybe we'll get a cold front and a breeze!

Hahaha that just made me laugh so hard! I know exactly what you mean though! VERY hot! And not as many water stations (and not as good) as Bonnaroo, so be prepared for that as well! You can bring like 2 or 3 bottles in though too.

I am still debating whether to go. I plan on going to Austin for sure that weekend, and I might just get a single day ticket for Friday. I need to pay off my credit cards, but Im gonna play it by ear right now. The lineup doesnt compare to last years lineup with Muse and Bjork, those were two of the best sets Iever seen, and I skipped Arcade Fire for Muse.
