The mid lineup looks like it has some great potential, so they better bring it, because I was expecting some bad ass headliners and got stuck with foo fighters and a band that will be at bonnaroo but not in a headlining spot. no good. no good.
i cant believe foo fighters are the headliners...i keep looking at it like and saying why?
you know ACL looks at its own boards and see what people are talking about, they go and get a headliner that NO ONE was talking about (i understand that it might be impossible to book some of the bands they suggest but i mean c'mon).
look at roo...they see everyone saying pearl jam and whadda know?
its ok though, guess ill just leave early...sigh....
^Agreed. But also after further observation of the lineup, David Byrne will be stellar, and I am so excited about this show. There are also a large number of small bands that I'm stoked about, but the headliners are just BLAH. It's tough to get over, honestly.

I just keep telling myself the aftershows will blow me away...
Yeah. This is definitely not feeling like a $170 value (even though it clearly is in the larger sense). I'm going to have to do a band by band cost analysis before I get a pass...
Already bought mine. Yikes. I'd still go though if I hadn't bought it yet. I would just be a little reluctant at first to get a pass. But then I'd remember it'll still be a grand time in zilker park with friends listening to great music.
Sometimes yeah. But I wouldn't expect anything big unless ticket sales hurt...which unfortunately doesn't seem to happen much with ACL.
Lucky, if you decide not to do the full 3 days, the passes are pretty easy to unload, especially once they sell out and start selling the absurdly priced 1 day tix.
I'm going to refocus my lineup fulfillment on the Thursday Bonnaroo announcement.
The headliners leave a little to be desired. Tons of names that I personally don't care for. But seriously. Spiritualized And Mars Volta. Quack. You should check Delta Spirit too. That band is so good. Reguardless. You guys should have some fun with this.

i think this is sounding a whole lot like when bonnaroo first released their lineup.
are the headliners really exciting...no. beck will be great...lots of fun live, but i'm not much of a foo fighters fan, and i'll be damned if i'm going to complain about seeing robert effing plant twice in a year.
i personally thought the undercard for this year was great. while the big acts leave much to be desired...a la bonnaroo...i can honestly say there is a long list of performers i will not miss, and therefore, it doesn't disappoint me in the least.
sorry for those of y'all who are disappointed, but i'll be there with bells on

Yeah, line up is not that great, but I want to go anyway... maybe some decent adds, and I like a few of those artists quite a bit (Beck, Mars Volta, David Byrne). But, does this mean that Foo Fighters is THE headliner of this fest?

yes, FF will headline sunday, which is totally fine with me. i'm usually exhausted by then, and now i can cut out early for a cab home.
ACL has never been about headliners for me. the shows can only go until 10 or 10:30 at night due to noise ordinances in Austin, so there are no great light shows or anything of the sort until the headlining acts come on.
this will also give me a reason to leave early and catch some aftershows!
I really didn't have high expectations going into the lineup, so I am actually very content who is playing this year . I am actually somewhat excited about seeing the Foo Fighters only because I wouldn't go see them on a regular tour. Here is a list of artists that I am excited for:
Foo Fighters Manu Chao John Fogerty David Byrne Mars Volta Bright Eyes Erykah Badu G. Love & Special Sauce Neko Case Band of Horses Spiritualized Slightly Stoopid The Black Keys Hot Chip Ingrid Michaelson Stars Jenny Lewis Heartless Bastards Antibalas Octopus Project
Throw in pretty much everyone that is also playing Bonnaroo this year for the exception of Against Me as well.
Jerzee, you pretty named all the bands i want to see, minus a few. we'll have to meet up and share some cornage
Yes, we shall meet up and see some shows together
You should have seen me this morning. As My gf was turning on the computer , I said to her "Lets see whats under the Christmas Tree." It took her a few seconds to realize what I was refering to.She is actually excited for some of the smaller bands opposed to the larger names, but she can't wait to just walk around and find something new.
I think the lineup is fine if arent paying for extra travel. I'd pay $170 for that but I'm not going to add a flight to the cost.
I was really hoping for something stellar so I could be convinced to go this year. And whether or not you like FF on cd they do put on a pretty good live show. I'm not a big fan but I'd definitely attend another show.
