THis lineup more and more really seems to parallel Roo in 06. I think 06 was a year that really brought newer and more long term fans to Roo and they are going to bring the same formula to SF. I'm definitely not complaining...

Manu Chao! Manu Chao! Manu Chao! Manu Chao! Manu Chao! I'm taking the whole family. My 18 year old said it would make her the happiest girl in the world. Dad will just have to behave himself a little more.
You know, after looking at what some of you west coasters have to pay to go to TN this year, this would be a cheaper option. If I wasn't booked for ACL I would do this in a heartbeat. The fact that it is held in San Fran is an added bonus. I am kinda surprised not too many ppl have talked about this festival more.

Pretty excited about the Black Keys getting added. I wonder how many more additions we should expect? I see they still haven't added any electronica, which was promised in the release.
They said 60+ bands and I got 52 at this point. So at least another round of additions,I hope and that littered with electronic. I started to remember how effed up its gonna be where I wanna see like 75% of the line up. Friday alone I wanna see like everyone except one and even then that cuz I will see them in a few weeks. Do you think there will be anyone playing while the headliners are on or is it gonna be just them?

Dunno for sure? Also wish we knew if set times will be Coachellaesque or more like Roo's... ???
Oh well...as long as Radiohead recreates their Roo '06 greatness!! ;D
I got this funny feeling that its gonna be Coachellaesque. An hour here and an hour there. Too many bands. Its 5 stages if I remember right, but still a 10pm stopping time.
The Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival taking place in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, Earth, on August 22, 23 & 24, 2008 just got EVEN sweeter with the latest artist additions of Toots & the Maytals, Rogue Wave, The Walkmen, Mike Gordon, Abigail Washburn & the Sparrow Quartet feat. Bela Fleck, Vienna Teng, Howlin' Rain, Everest, The Dynamites and Carney.
I will say it again. Favorite line up this year. Anybody else hitting this up?
Dude. Quacking Everest. I have soiled myself.

I will be at the Outside Lands Fest. I am pretty excited but they need to and some night shows. I do have an extra real NICE hotel room available at the Holiday Inn Fishermans Wharf. Price is only $99 per night (includes tax!). Check out their website for all of the amenities, also notice they are asking $200+per night PLUS taxes. I will be staying at this hotel (in a seperate room) and I did pass it on a previous trip and it looked impressive, I am looking very forward to staying here. I would love to make a deal so email me at scottwh1te@hotmail.com and lets work something out.
Garage A Trios will be at the Independent Sat Aug 23.
Finally a night show worth talking about. I am hopeful for a few more of similar caliber.
They need to do something to stir up some excitement. I am going but I cant convince anyone else.
Cmon Superfly get creative, put an unusual collaboration together, Claypool will be there, add buckethead and the drummer from Tool. And that was just off the top of my head. I trust their judgment when it comes to talent buying and superjams. They have the perfect opportunity here, dont blow this.

I saw Perpetual Groove at the Independent when I was on vacation there in Feb. Great little spot, don't leave your corn at home, a security guard let me use his corn-cob-holder after I was told that corn was cool, but bl-nts were not.
