words cannot express how shitty today's weather was... thank god i had seats under the shed at Nissan. That still doesn't change the fact that i was still soaking wet all 4 hours at the show and nissan pavillion turned into a swimming pool.
Anybody who sat on the lawn and watched every part of that show deserve an award.
i'm gonna have to say that Like Spinning Plates was definitely the highlight of the show for me. The lights were uber impressive and i'd love to try to catch 1 more show on the 2nd leg of the US tour if i could. :-) Maybe with much better weather....

i didnt see one god damn song. (and they played pretty much as perfect a setlist as i could have hoped for)
that weather was worse than anything i have expereinced at roo. and i was there during the 04 monsoon during the dead. this was worse, imo..cause it was cold too. i was not prepared as far as clothing and i was COMPLETELY drenched from head to toe and freezing (not to mention sobering up cause i aint spending 10 bucks for a miller light). and it was raining too hard to even get a little corn in (thats how bad it was).
we went in got to our "pavillion seats" only to realize that they arent really under any pavillion at all. sat through a couple liars tunes, realized that the conditions would not allow us to enjoy anything, realized we would be seeing RH 2 more times this summer..and said screw it. on our way out we say miles of backed up traffic and this was around the time that RH should have been going on. i wasnt in there when they were on, but i would imagine that the place was pretty much empty.
it was a friggin nightmare. first time i have ever left a show because of weather. and it was probabaly the worst possible night for that to happen, (after seeing the setlist).
i am beyond upset today. thank god ill be at the 2nd leg. if you stayed out there in that stuff last night...you are one tough mofo..or maybe you had a poncho.

OH HOLY POO! I witnessed the whole show from the lawn, I had a poncho and rain pants, but I was soaked to the bone about 10 minutes after we got out of the car. But they made it all worthwile, The Fake Plastic Trees alone was worth it. We didn't even make it out of the lot until 1:30 AM due to traffic, but I would do it again in a heatrbeat. If you saw the only idiot on the lawn giving himself a glowstick show, that was me.
I would just like to say that I decided on a new career and I want to be a weatherman. I'll just get a dart board and throw darts at sections that say rainy or cloudy or sunny. I'll probably be more accurate than most of these idiots. I checked on Saturday and it was supposed to be sunny with a 30% chance of rain later at night. Then on Sunday, it's 70% chance of rain all freakin afternoon and night with no sun anywhere. Nice.
The weather was ridiculous. I couldn't believe how flooded the place was after the show. I had a poopy poncho and I was pretty soaked. My feet were freakin freezing after a half and hour or so. They actually went numb and I fell over at one point. It was totally worth it though. I posted this over in the radiohead setlist thread.......
My friend and I had lawn seats and we decided that come hell or high water (we got the high water) we were gonna make it under the pavilion. I found a soaking wet ticket stub that you couldn't really make out the numbers and just kept moving forward acting like my seat was up there somewhere. I made it up to the soundboard and found empty seats around there. It was awesome.

I don't want to pour salt in the wounds of anyone who left early or couldn't make it. I completely understand. But...wow... They played all of In Raibows, and it never felt shoehorned in. Reckoner and Jigsaw sounded like them at their peak. The arrangement on Spinning Plates was incredible. The light coming up during Idioteque to show a pavilion of people going apeshit. Lucky! Paranoid Android! The entire place singing along during Karma Police. And I never expected Fake Plastic Trees. It was just perfect. The only lull was Go Slowly, and then, boom...Planet Telex.
It wasn't the Bonnaroo show, but the familiarity with the In Rainbows songs made it close.
I was soaking wet one minute after getting out of the car. Decided to leave just before Reckoner (damn you, lawn seats!). We sat in the car from 9:30 pm - 12:30 pm in that ridiculous parking lot traffic jam and didn't make it back home for another hour and a half (the trip being about 20 miles away) due to road closures, traffic lights out, detours, etc. Hands down a miserable experience. And I missed FPT. I'm depressed.
God, I am so sorry you guys. I caught their show in Atlanta, took a shuttle in. Those guys know how to ship in 20,000 people! You get into the venue an hour early with a bus ticket! Light misting on my "starlite fuck you if it rains" seats, but nothing like the sh%t you guys had to deal with.
I'd never been to Nissan and likely won't go back. I'm trying to buck up b/c there's a chance I'll catch Radiohead again on the next leg of the tour, but that rain and traffic was unbelievable. Fortunately, I was in excellent company and that made up for all the misery.

This is my sentiment about Nissan. I've seen Coldplay, Dave Matthews, and someone else (altho it escapes my mind who at the moment) there, and I've never spent less than an hour getting out of there due to traffic. The lawn is fun, unless it's raining... which I can't imagine what it's like, as i'm lucky enough to always catch shows in good weather conditions there. But i know it's hard enough to keep your feet on that hill when it's nice outside, especially since the Nissan crowd always tends to get a little bit rowdy and bump into each other and knock everyone down the hill. It's gonna take a damn fine act to get me back there ever again.
Radiohead would have been one of them, but i guess in hindsight it's a good thing i didn't get tickets
I'll take the much smaller and better organized Charlottesville Pavilion any day of the week

me and three friends sat on the llawn for 4 and a half hours soaked to the bone... but it was worth every second of it. does anyone have any pictures of the concert? no way i was taking my camera out in that monsoon

I hadn't been to Nissan Pavilion since the Furthur Fest in 96, Now I remember why. Though I had a magnificent time once I was there, the 3 hours in a car both coming and going for what should be a 45 minute drive was ridiculous. I know the rain was a factor, but the parking people were nowhere to be seen to help direct traffic.
Does anyone know the story behind all the people getting there so late? I heard it was because of flooding. Did they shut down a road to the venue or something, causing a much larger back up than usual? I just don't understand what went so horribly wrong for so many folks. I knew the traffic was going to suck getting out, but some people are saying they were stuck in traffic for 4 or 5 hours only to be turned around once they got there.
One of the roads coming in was already flooding pretty early on, and I think it got closed. Add to that traffic lights that weren't working due to power outtages. We were stuck IN THE PARKING LOT for three hours...despite leaving at 9:30 pm. There were no parking attendants in the lot after the show. Shameful.
I guess my buddy and I got pretty lucky then. It took us no time to get in at 4:30ish. We left a little early, during Go Slowly, and we were out in an hour. We did cheat upon leaving, going straight when all the other traffic was going right, cause we knew the exit was right there.

yeah me and my friend did the exact same thing. we got there around 430 and got in fine then just had to brave the rain for 4 hours until the show then it was all worth it. we stayed for the entire set and both encores. then when we made it to the lot following the show we jumped to cars beside us then made a mad dash for the exit. made it out in under 30 mins(our friends who we met there were stuck until 1:00 am), i feel really bad for all those who didnt make it in. i read that one of the roads got closed down and thousands of ppl didnt even make it into nissan for the concert at all.
hopefully it doesnt rain in ohio august 4th again. but the show was well worth it.
Great show. Thought it was going to suck in the lawn, but once Radiohead came on the rain wasn't an issue. I left at the start of House of Cards and got back to my hotel (6 miles away) at 1:30 AM. Only thing I regret was keeping my cell phone on me because when I took it out of my jacket there was water moving behind all of the screens.

"If you gave even one tiny llama turd about environmental impact, you would never have scheduled a show at a venue 40 miles away from downtown D.C., nowhere near public transportation of any kind."
last night was really really good. Can't wait for Saturday.
If anyone needs DALLAS tickets, please read below:
Hello, all, my wife's uncle died yesterday as we were on our way to St. Louis for Radiohead. We still made the show, and we are going to Houston on Saturday as well, but now we must abandon our plans to hit the Sunday show in Dallas, as we have to be back in St. Louis for a funeral on monday.
I have 2 Section 200, Row FF for sale for the 5/18 show in Dallas. $55 is face. I paid about $155 after TM charges. I'm asking for FACE or your best offer.
I can meet you in Houston or I can have a friend meet you in Dallas.
I don't really want to sell these tickets, I'd much rather prefer going to the show, but it is logistically infeasible now, so I must unload these tickets.
