Yeah dude, APW Saturday was off the wall awesome. I don't think it was quite up to the level of Bonnaroo but I'd say besides that it was the best I've seen them. To those who have yet to see them on this tour, I'm extremely jealous, you're going to have a wonderful time. Hopefully it won't be too much longer before the next tour.

Such a great show(except for the dooshnozzles behind us that would not shut up and kept cracking jokes to each other). I absolutely love Everything In Its Right Place as the closer. They had, seriously 90% of the crowd clapping along through the whole song. I have some videos I'll post at a later date.
'twere an amazing evening last night. Actually, truth be told, until the concert, I was having a really bad day yesterday... then I got caught up in horrendous traffic on the way down there (a thirty minute drive became a two-hour plus drive), and missed the opening act and the first ten minutes of Radiohead's set... but once I got there, everything just melted away and I had a terrific time. I caught up with a really good friend of mine who I haven't seen in over a year, met a couple of her friends, heard all the old favorites, and enjoyed some corn in the parking lot afterwards. Unfortunately, three other friends of mine were there as well and I didn't even know it until today! One of the highlights, IMO, was when Thom played a song off of The Eraser. I just wish my brother could've been there with me, and not in Korea (Radiohead has been his favorite band since OK Computer).
jack, ill post a link to my pics soon. we were about 4 people from thom in the pit
also, the trick with the tweeter center is to drive by all that traffic. the exit is 2 lanes and they are never, ever, both used. plus, the left lane of that exit is the one you want anyway - and everyone always stays in the righthand one after waiting an hour in the huge line.
how was leaving? we paid for the premium because i wasnt about to be out until 3 am... im guessing 2+ hours?
Leaving was... well, it was a solid hour and a half before I got out. I hung out at my friend's car for a while until she was able to get out, then I hiked over to my car, where my section of the parking lot was practically abandoned. Traffic was bad leaving, but nowhere near as bad as entering. Karma for the tip, I'll remember it for next time. How much was the premium?
P.S. Oh, and four people from Thom? You lucky SOB! I'm super jealous.
the tip only works from 495 south. i cant comment on the other ways to get there...since i never go those ways.
as for your article - well done. the bit i agree most with is "After a run through the mediocre “The Bends,” an older song that sounded downright mainstream in the company of all the others," since, well, you're right.
"Greenwood took center stage to assist Yorke in a chiming acoustic guitar “Faust Arp,” Yorke cracking the night’s only smile when he flubbed a line." is wrong. when your up close, thom is often smiling. in fact, thats one thing i learned from being so close. i thought these guys were excising demons on stage, but they are really just having fun. it sort of changed my whole perspective on them...a bit anyway.
also, the premium parking is a cool $40. ouch. but 2.5 hours of waiting around on a worknight.... no thanks.

Uhhh......what?
Are we listening to the same song? The Bends? Mediocre? No way, gentlemen. You both need to go listen to that song right now and tell me when the guitar is screaming from the top of the mountain and Thom is singing "I want to live and breathe, I want to be part of the human race" that the song is mediocre. Other songs on The Bends, maybe I'd concede that they aren't all that great. But not this one. It might not sound as revolutionary in light of everything that came after it, but it's still one hell of a powerful number. The two times that I've seen it performed it also packed an incredible wallop (one of those times as at APW Saturday, a show I know you were at Idioteque). Sorry if I seem a little defensive, I'm by no means a raging fanboy, I just think the good songs should get their due.
