feck memorial day. I play in one golf tournament all year, and it's often one of my only times playing golf anymore, and it's on memorial day weekend. That would just piss me off if I had to choose between a fest or golf.

Doppler is still a little bummed about missing the US Open and Tiger's epic performance last weekend... but he's coping
Yeah...actually weather wise in ATL that's a better time of year...and it's an early fest...really nothing other than Rado has happened then on the east coast...Coach on the west...so it's not a bad move on their part.....be one of the first instead of the last.....

meh. meh meh meh meh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have a family event that weekend i was told to keep in my head a year in advance. so that just SUCKS on so many different levels. (if its true.)
NOT TO MENTION. by Oct. i would have more vaca dates - that werent around 'festival season.' i hate this. ECHO TAKE NOTE!!
who puts on this festival? we should send them a letter!!!!
Agreed, Oct is such a good time as my vacation bank has recovered fully from summer by then... then it recovers again in time for rado, then it recovers again in time for summer stuff...
I'm just saying....from a business perspective, it's less risky to do a camping fest over Memorial Day weekend at the BEGINNING of festie season than waiting till mid-Oct at the END of festie season in a questionable climate/weather sitch and when people's festie budget's might already be maxed out....
Not gonna fit EVERYONE'S schedule...but then Roosters ALWAYS find a way....

i see what your saying bama, but i also see it being smart business wise the way they are doing it, because by october, festy season is well over, and people have money again.... the lineup is going to have to be insane cuz now they are going to have to compete with all the other summer festivals that are much closer to memorial day, than in october...

June - Wakarusa and Bonnaroo July - Rothbury, Nelsons Ledges, 10k Lakes, Camp Bisco, and Allgood August - APW, Gathering of the Vibes, moe. down, September - ? October - Echo Project/Voodoo November - Turkey Day December - Xmas/New Years Eve Shenanigans January - Hungover!! February - ? March - Langerado, Wanee, snoe.down, April - Corn-twenty/Ultra(i think)/Coachella May - Summerfest, Mountain Jam, New Echo Project???
I dont see how that would make sense??? If they are trying to still attract the camping audience, why do it in the same month as two + others. The Weather perspective makes sense, but other than that...I'm all ???
Fall is my favorite season, I need a festie when the leaves are changing colors. (Something about Fall makes me feel Younger...IDK why...not that I'm old either...Just the smell of Fall makes me happy. Throw in a festie there = )

LOL! If this year is any indication....ALL festies will have the same lineup no matter what (Jack Johnson )....
Seriously though...I think the Echo promoters are just trying to find their niche....last year obviously wasn't what they were hoping for so maybe they will try a late spring/early summer slot and see if it does any better....they will have about the same competition realisticially, hit before the acts go on summer tour, they won't be competing for the TOP TOP shelf headliners with the Bonnaroos or Lolly's anyways most likely. And then if the early slot doesn't work who knows? We might lose the festie all together.... Which would just be a shame.....
I highly doubt they will do it memorial day weekend, I mean meat camp knows that thats the same weekend as JOTR which the biscuits always play at so right there is a huge chunk of people that wont go to Echo.
