Last year I wasn't aware of the "real" shakedown street, and thought that the official, festival sanctioned one was it. This year, I'm going to go on a hunt for the real deal.

there will be less and less shakedown every year. unfortunately, roo is seriously cracking down on this. they don't want you to spend your money with anyone that isn't officially part of the festival. i talked to one of the food guys, who had the best lot food I've ever had. he was an "official" vendor at langerado and i found him on shakedown at roo in 2006. I saw him again at langerado this year and i said "hey i tried to find you last year at bonnaroo" and he said "yeah, roo is over. it's sad." really... when metallica is headlining your festival, you're pretty pretty mainstream and there just isn't any room for a real shakedown in the mainstream world. of course, as long as phil is there, there will at least be a tiny bit of shakedown action.

It's been my experience that Plantation is a good place to start looking, but as others have stated, what you are looking for there you can probably find in a variety of locations around the camp. Even where we camped last year (SW side of Jeff Spicoli) there were little mini bars and such on the road back to our camp (the un-named road there.

This makes me sad.
Don't let it - it's complete bunk. Esp. with Phish as a headliner this year.

you just walk around for a while... last year when we were searching i just looked for the craziest looking dude and asked him. it was a guy just walking alone swinging a glowing sword, and i just walked up to hims and said "hey sword dude, you wouldnt happen to know where shakedown is do you" and he responded with, "yeah its over there i think". and there it was
Last year it seemed to me that if you left Centeroo through the arch and kept going straight, the walkway would dead end into Shakedown St. It was about a 15-20 min. walk. I know that part of Shakedown St. crossed Bushy Branch Rd. where it was closed down. The easiest way to get there is just ask a taxi driver to take you there.

or you can go on thursday, choose something awesome before everything good is gone, and be a nice person and talk to them for a while and get a good deal. that worked amazingly for us last year. just talk to the vendors, most are nice people (some arent though)
Are you sure Shakedown still exists? In '09 I saw an area of pop up vendors getting harassed by Bonnaroo security. The next day they were all gone and there was a sign that read "Shakedown has moved to Rothbury!"
the breakfast burritos were amazing.. ate one every day. the coffee was butt though. i can't believe that was shakedown though. seemed more like a small town fair (with glass)
So can someone please explain exactly where this is? Paved road or dirt?
You just have to poke around...
Its not hard to miss. It'll be out in the GA campgrounds several "city blocks long" lining a road. There will be all kinds of vendors selling all kinds of wares. Its nothing special but its cool to check out. If you're looking for a glass peice, festival security has been cracking down over the past few years so you may have to poke around extra hard to find where the vendors have set up.
Its not the best place to find corn though. You'd have better luck sitting around your campsite waiting for the roaming salesman or keeping your ears peeled as you walk around the GA campgrounds.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.
