so say you want more than corn...is shakedown a good place to look? any suggestions?
Just make sure to check with your local BBB (your neighbors) before you invest in something. Word gets around as to who is selling something worth having.

I'm in tent-only every year... No shortage of corn whatsoever. Corn farmers sell their cobs fast though, so don't wait till Saturday night to make a decision on which corn to buy.
Totally disappointed to hear that the very official looking area was Shakedown. Last year was my first Roo, and I didn't get out much to explore the campgrounds. I thought I had to have missed it, but no... Well, here's to a better Shakedown this year!
the very official looking area is the pseudo shakedown. there is another area which i have found a couple of times. its WAY out in bfe. there are no lights or fancy signs and they dont take credit cards. mostly its people with things in tents. a few of the places make food. there are people with all kinds of treats =. mostly people are standing around in the road. its very hard to find since there are no signs but i did get some really good cheap food there and one time i got a GreaT bloody mary for 3 bucks. i dont do other "treats" but i was approached while was over there. i have no idea how to find this area which ....is what makes it good.....and cheap. one year i just walked and walked and walked and came upon it and another year i was camped somwhat near it and heard some music coming from it.

Not quite unicorns, but definitely some variety. I was expecting fellow Roo'ers selling stuff, as opposed to obvious vendors. I thought with as large as that glass setup was they had to have been licensed.

Since it seems so hard to find shakedown street, maybe people who find it can tweet (or get a friend to tweet) out what camp it's in or near? I couldn't find it last year and would really like to see what it's all about...
Honestly I don't feel like Shakedown exists at Roo anymore. At the least, it is nothing like it used to be.
Up until 2007ish Shakedown used to be obvious and centered in one area. It was so easy to get anything you wanted with almost zero effort. Seems like it has broken off into smaller pockets scattered here and there the last several years.
Last year was especially bad. Had to just resort to wandering around getting lucky. Keep your ears open and make eye contact and you may find what you seek. Good luck on your pursuits.

Womp. I honestly wasn't even seeking a way to acquire any NO NO WORD! there. I just heard it's a cool place where they sell all sorts of things...kinda like a "must see" attraction of Bonnaroo. At least I know not to wander around looking for it this year...
Thought I'll still be searching for #shakedownstreet on my twitter periodically.........
