Haha, well pizza IS delicious! Once I start my diet though I'm cutting out all refined carbs, at least at first. Anyone know of any pizza made with whole wheat? I doubt its very good, haha...
Alessia, you're making me want to try again. Did you feel like you saw good results as far as toning went? I'm not really interested in being a "runner" but I do like to jog for cardio so maybe a schedule will get me working harder and burning more calories!
DiGiorna actually makes a decent wheat crust pizza AND - if you have a Mazzio's nearby - they make a wheat crust pizza AND you can ask them to put only 1/2 the amount of cheese or no cheese on the pizza
I dont diet, I eat what I want to, but I usually like a lot of healthy foods anyway. Lots of fruit and vegetables. I have lost about 15-20 pounds recently just by not eating unless I was hungry and stopping when I was full, but I eat what I want to. I also don't drink soda, maybe one every now and then and when I drink I've been drinking dirty martinis instead of beer or jack and coke. Of course, when I am somewhere besides home or with other people looking for somethign to do, I always eat much more and thats when I start gaining it back. Heres a tip that always helps thought when in a restaurant. Once you are full, tell the server to take your plate away so you don't just keep picking at it!
I am a thicker girl, but I'm not fat or rolly or anything. My stomach is much smaller lately but I still hate my arms, I cant seem to get rid of them. Any advice? Instead, my butt is getting smaller, and I liked my butt Isnt that how it always goes lol.
But such is life, I'm actualy really happy with how I look and feel right now. I've been fixing myself and dressing nice lately and that is helping a lot with me feeling better about myself. i'm also wearing heels ore and tey make me feel sexy and I think I in turn carry myself better. and Ive been getting lots of compliments and being asked out on lots of dates (even if i say no, still makes you feel good)
So, point of my rambling is even if you arent at the size you would like to be, there are other things to do to make you look and feel better in the meantime.

I lost 17lbs before my wedding in May and my friend who is a lot bigger than me lost 25lbs in the same amount of time - around 3 months. Neither of us really exercised (apart from an occasional walk here and there), we just counted calories and fat and used the site below to help us. We both cut out soda (I didn't really drink any before), and we would even eat Taco Bell or other fast food occasionally, but we would just make smarter choices and eat less than before. If we wanted a cookie, we would have one, but just one
Buy fat free Breyers Ice cream - it is wonderful and switch to 2% cheese, and just make little changes and it will happen faster than you know. Also Lean Cuisines have a wonderful new selection of meals (I always hated frozen meals before), and also Kashi has some great stuff - they have the best granola bars ever. I usually eat a Lean Cuisine for lunch at work and then pretty much whatever I want (in moderation) for dinner. I try to snack on fruit when I get hungry.
Here is the site - it basically teaches you to watch what you eat and gets you into good habits - its very much like the online weight watchers except this one is free. It also has groups, recipes and forums and lots of support and motivation goals.
^tiff kudos! i agree with everything you just said.and, i also hate my arms.

^ or attempting to hula hoop in your living room. haha. my new thing is that my cousin and i got obsessed with going to toys r us and playing dance dance revolution hahaha. it makes you sweat!
Thanks for all the pizza tips, makes me feel less sad about giving up the bad kind. Tiff, I'm totally with you on portion control- that's the big thing. But I am going to do a pretty strictly healthful, less-carb diet for at least a few weeks to sort of "reset" after a summer living off junk food. I need to remind myself those things are treats, not every day stuff!
Does anyone know any exercises to make your booty bigger?? Mine is so flat.

^^ Wiifit really is alot of fun. I hula hoop on it a lot. You become kind of competitive with it. You want to beat your previous record. I'm really glad I have one.

*Lunges are great to tone the butt and thighs
*To tone your arms, while your on the phone or online get a light weight or even a can of chili or something and straighten an arm over head while holding the weight and bend back to about a 90 degree angle, and repeat for a few sets.... this tones the jiggly under arm.
*There is this site called www.hungrygirl.com The person who made the site basically took any fattening food and made a low calorie, low fat version of it. They just recently partnered with Weight Watchers so they also will give you the point value. I would def suggest anyone to check this site out!
*Speaking of W.W. I have been on and off program for a while, This year I lost almost 15lbs but then I get sick of counting points so I just stop. I was also training for the marathon while I was on W.W and realized I was able to eat what I wanted but still lose weight because of all the exercise.
*I think my big problem is 1.) I hate vegetables, I can't even remember the last time I have had a veggie... how sad is that?! My vice is cheese and bread so I really need to add an assortment of lean protien and veggies to my lifestyle...and 2.) I go out usually only once a week to party, but I drink way too much beer and then there is always the drunk binge at some fast food place or dinner. I think I am going to attempt to give up binge drinking...I just feel gross afterwards...as I do right now. Anyone else feel like drinking is messing with their weight loss goals?

I've decided once I have what I need saved for my move to ny that i am getting a Wii probably the last person on the planet to have one. But I need guitar hero, ddr, and wii fit... and yes, i said need, not want.
ugh. my last day in vegas and back home to real life and going to the gym. joy.
I was just never like that. Yeah, I did it, but most of the people I did it with would rather enoy corn all day long than get drunk and I really just wanted to drink. Another bad thing about it was that i dont get munchies but I get beer munchies big time! so it makes me double fat haha
Oh, the beer munchies... fast food never tasted so good.
I ran 3.5 miles on the track today. Kind of excited. Haven't run that far in at least a year, probably more. This is coming from a girl that used to run 7 miles on an easy day. Half-way there!
and we would even eat Taco Bell or other fast food occasionally, but we would just make smarter choices and eat less than before. If we wanted a cookie, we would have one, but just one
Cheat meals, or even days, are key to running a successful low carb diet. I've even heard of people running carb cycling and having a 1000+ carb day. These people probably started out at a sub 25% 230+ lbs, but you get the picture. IMO the key to losing weight isn't so much burning calories as increasing your metabolism, which is what the old weight loss products like hydroxycut did (thermogenics). Theres plenty of little tricks that you can do to acheive this, like doing 20-30 minutes of low impact cardio before you eat your first meal. Also, Squats = bigger, and excellent ass. and quads. and hamstrings. Ass to the grass, squat till you drop! Also, if weight loss is your main priority a lot of research says HIT training (High intensity interval training) is the most successful cardio, and from personal experience i would have to agree. Too much low intensity and your fast twitch fibers will convert to slow twitch, which hurts hypertrophy (building muscles) if lifting is part of your program. Too much high intensity is a good way to over train, and its also stressful on the joints and such. And yes, i just made that post at 12 on a saturday night, so you know its legit!!

^ my trainer also said going from high intensity to low instensity cardio is the best, which is good for me because i love to run but cant do it for long so i can walk at a fast paced and then just sprint as fast as i can for a little while and then slow down again. I really like wlaking on the treadmill on a really high incline because i like when i can feel my legs and butt burning. My thighs are blah. But I will say, even though i have a big butt, its really solid and not dimply, all the yucky went everywhere else. Oh well. i like how I look lately, and i'm taking care of myself guess thats what matters.
I think before I try to get too hardcore about working out, I need to just exercise PERIOD. I need to have regular exercise a part of my lifestyle before I can get into the specifics! If I'm moving around, that's a step in the right direction. I am gonna try to do a lotta squats and lunges to make myself a butt. How long will it take before I notice results, do you think? And should I do toning exercises pre or post cardio?
On the topic of being active- my fam is in town, and in Chicago you do a lotta walking. Its so, so sad to see my 11 year old overweight little brother struggling to walk long distances and complaining about how he hates to walk around.
actually, Kashi makes a frozen pizza that will do in a pinch. and its tasty / healthy. ..
sorry, tastes like cardboard to me. I'd rather eat the box. Make your own using the premade thin pizza crust. Then use fresh tomatoes instead of sauce, mushrooms, artichoke hearts, a few black olives, whatever veggie you like, and some low fat cheese. And then only eat a few slices instead of the whole thing ;D
For you ladies who are interested in improving the shape of your booties, toning the rest of your bodies in general AND want to get some good endurance cardio in ALL at the same time...the best exercise in the world is jumping rope.
30 minutes of steady jumping is the equivalent of an hours worth of jogging and burns about 500 calories, making it one of the most efficient cardio exercises out there. Also it basically works every muscle group in your entire body, and quickly builds lean mass. You'll be super sore the first week you do it, but it pays off quick. Give it a try!

^^ Woohoo. Karma for that. Jumping rope sounds more fun that running. Don't think it'd be good for my knee-- but when I can get back on this knee.. I'm doing it!

It's actually surprisingly gentle on the knees. I mean it's not IDEAL...it's still impact aerobics, versus say swimming or street biking, but it is VASTLY easier on your joints than running or jogging. Plus it builds up the muscles that surround and stabilize your knee, making the joint stronger in the long run.

Jumping rope just makes me think of bad 5th grade experiences. After some traumatic failed attempts to do all those awesome jump rope tricks/songs, I just sat and read a book. That's what I've been doing ever since.
But if I can grow a booty, maybe I'll try it... I'd have to work through a lot of emotional scarring...
Today is the day that I am supposed to start working out, but I hurt my hip this weekend! I've had problems with it since high school, and I definately popped it out hooping it up this weekend. Ouch. But hopefully I can get into the chiropractor today and get out there by Weds. Good luck to all you ladies who are starting down the road to fitness today! And, of course to all of you already on your way, too.

It's Monday...no more slacking for me. So are we going to report back on our good habits as each day goes to keep ourselves in check?
I think for this week I am going to count calories and cut out diet soda, I have been drinking way too much lately. I need to incorporate for veggies and lean protein along with following a workout program.
Started off the day with a big glass of water and egg whites with lowfat cheese. My mom made bacon and I said no! Going grocery shopping for lots of healthy stuff today, and I'm gonna go for a walk later because its soo beautiful out!
