I got a chiropractor's appointment for this afternoon. So hopefully I'll good to at least go for a walk tomorrow morning. I hope. But I am definately going to the grocery and stocking up on yummy fruits and vegies tonight!

One of the top chiropractors in the country is in Columbus, I know a lot of athletes go there and when Arnold Schwarzenegger is in town for the expo he stops there too. Do you already have a chiropractor or is this your first time going to this one?
I, also, did a great job today as far as eating! I ate a ton of veggies with dinner and didn't have that gross heavy feeling I've been having a lot lately after meals. So yay for all of us!
I didn't exercise though. I really need to tomorrow!!

They say getting into a good exercise routine is one of the hardest parts of staying fit. I heard somewhere that repeating an action or ritual every day or so for four weeks is what it takes to really make it a habit. I dont know if that's true or not, but it sounds about right.
"We're no longer called Sonic Death Monkey. We're on the verge of becoming Kathleen Turner Overdrive, but just for tonight, we are Barry Jive and his Uptown Five. "
Yeah. And don't get discouraged just because you didn't go one day, or didn't eat right one day...the other day I had 2 glasses of wine, a cheese biscuit and two cookies...totally not eating healthy! It's just a matter of staying on the right track and staying focused.
We can do this! We're all going to be hot mammas at Roo next year!
Eliminating red meat or meat at all is a good weight loss option. I lay off meat for like 3 weeks and it helps get the little bit off to show off the tone.

Also a good way to loss muscle or not support any gains for most.

Very, very true. If you cut meat out of your diet you HAVE to make sure you are replacing your protein intake through something else. Supplements, etc. etc.

Whey is actually a cheaper source of protein most of the time, but it doesn't have the calories and nutrients of meat. I also believe that if gaining muscle is your main priority you should try to get most of your nutrients from solids. I don't have any facts on it, just my opinion. If i'm eating 5k calories a day I'll get about 1k of it from shakes.

*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**

So today is day three of the Healthy Eating Revolution, and so far, so good! I already feel less bloated. AND: For some reason, cutting out the junk food has made me crave Diet Coke a lot less than usual. Diet Coke is my huge addiction!
Still no working out Just so lazy! I miss being able to go for a run, but the work I know I'd have to do to get to that point is discouraging me. So Alessia I know exactly what you mean! I think I am gonna go for a nice long walk after dinner.
Also getting nervous as going back to college approaches... I'm gonna have to say No to the alcohol that will be ever flowing around me, and the only way I can say Yes to corn is if I commit to not order pizza 30 minutes later. And that's a big commitment! What's the least unhealthy way to drink? Hey, if I cut back on the alchy, then maybe my school work will benefit!
PS: Don't forget everybody, sex burns calories! ;D
Trading beer for liquor and drinking it on the rocks is by FAR the healthiest way to drink. That, and drinking wine. Generally speaking more than 50% of the calories from any given mixed drink comes from the mixers NOT the alcohol itself. Esp. bad are frozen drinks and anything w/ soda. Fruit juice mixers are better, but still high in sugar. I for one drink whiskey/bourbon/tequila on the rocks, and I love it...but it's an acquired taste to be sure.

Okay, I know that there are a few boys wandering in here, so I suppose that they are subjecting themselves to this...
I was wondering what you girls do to fight off the temptations/obstacles set forth by Aunt Flow. I always have trouble getting motivated to excericse at that time o' the month because I just feel so...blah. And then on top of that, there's like ice cream cravings and whatnot. So, aside from just working on sheer willpower, any tips on what to do to resist those urges/get more motivated?
^^I am the worst about this. My tips are: Curl up with your boys Ben & Jerry, some Sex & the City and feel sorry for yourself. ;D
Though I will say Advil Migraine is the best painkiller ever. I will probably get an ulcer from taking it each month but it works really well for cramps. Peppermint tea is also good for reducing bloating. Maybe those tips will help you get to the gym, though I wouldn't sweat it if you want to relax a little. Maybe just go for walks and do some relaxing stuff like yoga? I'm not the best person to talk about this though considering my train record with exercise.
Speaking of GIRLY things like periods, haha, I'm really nervous going on birth control because I know it can make you gain weight. Have any of you experienced that?
EDIT: My friend CarpeDM called to my attention that suggesting its okay to have some girly relaxation time when you're on your period proliferates the stereotype that women can't function on their periods. He's too chicken shit to post it on the thread, but I'd just like to say in case I was being too stereotypical- not every girl is as weak and whiny as I am, but if you are, I think its just fine to feel sorry for yourself if you don't feel good.
...Back to regular programming.
