VooDoo and Jazz Fest are not camping festies....BUT....they have great vibes, great line-ups and they are in NOLA. Which means TONS of stuff to do AFTER the "official" festie stuff is over. And the price for hotel et al isn't outrageous like Coach and Lolly can be. (and Rado this year in MIA... : Good food, good music (lots of it free! ;D) VERY reasonable tix prices (about $30 a day for day tix for each and if you catch early bird on either festie you can get the weekend for well under $100!!)......and usually some great deals on airfare too. Def some non-camping festies to look at....
I think camping festivals are the best bet for my money. Which is why I like Bonnaroo, you pay one price and you get the music and lodging. I'm kicking myself after not going to Rothbury this year too. I live about 2 hours away from it but just couldn't afford it after 'roo.
Creep, where outside of Detroit are you going to be living? I'm about 20 minutes away from it.
And that really bums me out about Langerado. I've wanted to go for the past couple of years but without camping I wont. I went to Lollapalooza this year and hated it. It was cool being in the city, but it also made it seem more closed in and way more tightly packed than I ever thought Bonnaroo felt.

Warren hopefully, ill be working in Detroit at thunder audio... a company that rents out equipment to bands such as speakers, cables and monitors so i gotta move somewhere in that area. 6 more months though til im out there

I love this. exciting already. I agree that the Allman Brothers are due, since they had to cancel last year. The Dead will probably end up making an appreance as well. I also have a bet with a fellow festie friend that Lil' Wayne will be on the lineup. Not a wish of mine, but it could happen... The lack of trance/techno/house music should be addressed in some way, maybe a repeat of Sasha/Digweed or infected mushroom/the field/anything really.

By the end of this month/early next month, we should have at least one or two confirmed artists.
I could see RHCP headlining, though I think it'd be kind of a bummer. Just seems too predictable, not to mention I feel AC/Superfly could get something more special
It's hard to believe festival season news is about to begin again. Langerado lineup comes out this month and the first fake Coachella lineup popped up

I hope to god he isn't there, I'm thinking they learned the lesson with K.West.... I just can't get into Lil' Wayne though, and I def. love the hip-hop, I honestly think he's just garbage. I've yet to hear ANY song he's been on that I find to be quality.
i actually wouldnt mind seeing Lil Wayne there. I was against it for awhile but ive warmed up to it. alot of his songs have little to no meaning at all, but i do think it would be a lot of fun to see him on the farm.
i hope he sticks to his mixtapes though, those are alot better then his actual albums

I'd venture to suggest you haven't listened to enough Lil' Wayne then...

karma for that one because i completely agree.
like i said before some of his songs contain alot of jargin and hes not a great lyricist, but the man can flat out rap. his flow is awesome. and like i said if he stick to his mix tapes and mix in a few of his actual songs i think we would have a great time with him. i would be for him doing a day time act so he can have a bit of a longer set then he would get in the hip hip tent, either that or give him a late night stage set.

I think that's incredibly unlikely. Having an act there two years in a row is rare indeed, three would be unprecedented. And especially for an act that does the exact same set every date, every year. Bonnaroo clearly thought the word would spread after their '07 show, and they were right, but they're not going to get bigger than their packed '08 Which Stage show.
