Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I'm really not that pissed about the food issue but to me its surprising to jack up the price as much as they did but then take away from what you got last year. They better beef up in some other areas to compensate. Either way if the lineup is good then it won't matter since i'll be there.
Yup!! Defnitely! And you'll love "slumming it" in an RV....LOL! Actually...I think it's a rather nice compromise! ;D
Ahhh - the things we do for our friends - I guess if I have to "slum it" - an RV is the way to go - and Access Camping - don't forget that - it was a lifesaver for me last year!
Although I don't go VIP for the food (proximity and bathrooms) the price hike is a bit shocking. If Superfly is cutting out the food, then shouldn't the price go down? Yea, right. In the meantime, if we go this year, we'll go VIP.
If the price hike is caused by an increase in the number of top quality bands being signed, I'm all for it. We spent the whole time sick to our stomachs and couldn't eat the food anyways. Minnesota people NO LIKE HEAT!!!
The economy is what it is, crappy. You think Superfly isn't taking any hits either? They're not just jackin' up the prices to make more money, they're compensating for the worsening economy
As for the VIP vs GA, just do what you feel is best for you, duh
Perhaps the price hike is due to the additional anemities they are putting in. (Of course I'll never tell!)
Just food for thought, but there has been alot of activity on the site this year during the off season....WAAYYY more than in years past.
I think Superfly/AC has some suprises in store for us this year, and maybe even more for VIP.
Dancing poles? YES.
I thought of that too... the permanent water, etc. was bound to happen.
Like many here, Roo is my major vacation each year where I get to truly unplug and be me. I've gone GA and I've gone VIP and because I want/need to see as much music as possible, the proximity for VIP is ideal (and the only line I ever waited in for VIP was the food line, I waltzed into Centeroo at all hours otherwise).
Price is a factor, as it is for everyone I imagine. We'll see. But I'd love to attend my favorite place as I always have. For me, VIP is a foundation of the experience if I can afford it as I can party harder, longer and make the most out of my situation.
The good news is: RV's should be dirt cheap this year as those companies are STARVING.

Well then why not promote this kind of stuff now?
For someone like me- where a large part of the decision to do VIP was due to the availibility of food (as it kept us fed, kept additional food costs down, opened more space for storage...)- to take away a major benefit and still raise the price while not providing any other information as to what new may be available forces me to reconsider spending that money.
It's awesome if they're doing some great things with the site, but if no one knows about it then it doesn't really benefit them in any way. I'm not about to put faith in some stranger's post on the internets that the raise in prices/elimination of food might have something to do with better amenities being installed either (no offense to you intended). If that is the case, I would think it would be something they'd want to promote to potential VIP buyers.
I'm just really disappointed, is all. My VIP experience was great, and believe it or not the benefits of having food included was a big part of that. Frankly, I'm surprised so many people here seem to be rather indifferent or even glad the food part was eliminated. To each their own, but for me it was very positive aspect of the VIP package.
^^^LMAO!! Ya'll are too funny....since it looks like I'll be splitting an RV with Meg and Boz this year in GA....can I tempt you guys to come visit and hang with us sometimes with promises of REAL FROZEN MARGARITAS and REAL BREWED COFFEE??? ;D
This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo
I think everyones reasoning for going VIP in the past was a mixture of food, location to all the stages, ease of getting in and out, bigger campsites.....
I guess you can make a list of items that are important to you and put some weight to each one, then figure if going VIP in 09 is for you.
Again I figured for us it comes to a little over $800 per person, I think a "regular ticket is around $200 ???? Then the RV pass...$125..So I'm going to guess it would be around $300 per person with all the fees....So..VIP costs around $500 more per person...
For us it is well worth it..The free food and snacks were <10% of reasoning to go VIP. I would say for us 70% is because of the location to all the stages.
For anyone who has gone General Admission and then VIP........How many more shows did you see going VIP vs. General Admission ??
LOL! Well...I actually went GA RV in 2007 and saw MORE shows...but that was because it was such a HIKE back to the RV that once I was out in Centeroo it was easier/better to just stay there if there was anyone I wanted to see! And I had to get out early (well...11-noonish) each day since I was working media...to make press cons etc....so I would usually get up by 10...get out then head back to the RV to shower and change and hang out and rest for a while late afternoon/early evening then go back for the headliners/late nights.....
But our campsite was SO CLOSE and SO AWESOME last year in VIP that we just kept popping back there and ended up spending a lot more time there and then running back to Centeroo to catch the "must see" acts....so I didn't catch as many stumble upon acts as I did in 2007...so it REALLY depends on the person I think....I'm probably NOT the typical GA vs VIP person to ask - LMAO!
Two Words: STAFF WRISTBAND it gets you all the perks of VIP, but for free
Although, I wish I could afford VIP
^^this
Plus you can sneak in canned beer with ease to centeroo! And did I mention the staff shuttle to Wal-Mart? Idk how'd I do Roo without the staff bracelet
Staff wristbands don't get you into VIP. You need the Infinity pass to get where ever you want to go with the staff wristband. I know b/c my friends bought staff wristbands on the way in on saturday last year, and I tried to get them into VIP and this was the answer we got.

All about friends in high places, baby
Just kidding. We only got through VIP once or twice, but the entrance to the What Stage was fairly close to our campsite, and we never had to wait in line.
Vol Benefits - No wait in line to Centeroo, free showers, a free meal every day you work, quiet private camping, no hassling from security (if they did you could just flash them your bracelet)...it was pretty nice.

so it's 1513 on the payment plan vs 1425 for paying at once.
ill just pay it all at once and save about $100
Yup. I did the math and realized that it doesn't just make sense to wait, save my money and find out the band lineup; it makes financial sense. But if the lineup is as typically fantastic as it has been, I'm likely there. Particularly if there are "improvements" to the VIP area!
