The only reason to do VIP is for Proximity anymore, and I just don't see spending that much for proximity. Even with VIP, I found myself waiting in some lines to get in.
They are "selling" meal packages in VIP. Is this a joke? What exactly does VIP get you anymore?
I really believe there will be "value added" things to the VIP package. I mean, we have all been kickin around the idea of electricity for so long, and now, with so many people complainig, I think this year will rock. This will be my 4th VIP and 7th Roo, I have loved it every year, but I loves me some VIP and I do it every year. I can't wait for 2009, I already have my VIP package and I hope to see you all there. But really, I think that Superfly is gonna give us great things for being in VIP this year... just you wait... special viewing areas, lounges, and benefits... I'm sure that this year will be amazing!
And if you don't wanna go VIP that's cool. Those that do every year still will. We will always be there. And we will always have a great time. If you are camping in VIP and are bad ass at beer pong... come to our camp site and join my team.
YES!!!! beirut as we call it... one of our favorite pass-times. i will be in VIP regardless of food, cost, or the lineup. I wanna party with the serious ROO goers, that are willing to pay regardless of food, cost, or lineup...

Exactly! I'll always be there... it's not the lineup or the price that gets me there... it's just Bonnaroo. Karma for you.
I was thinking that the money saved by going GA might buy a used Segway...can we use 'em at Roo?
no but you can throw those guys driving the ez-gos i think $10 and they will take you from centeroo to camp. i wouldnt even do that though unless you are out in BFE. walking is half the fun!

I wish I had known that at about 6:00 AM Friday night last year! Would've saved me a long exhausting walk
Edit: I guess technically 6:00 AM Saturday morning ;D

We can afford to do VIP but for us I think it is a waste of money.
We had 7 days in an ocean front B&B, with a rental car in Puerto Rico for the same amount - that puts it in perspective for me just fine. I will deal with the walking, the crowds and the lines

I don't think it's a waste of money to do VIP when it's the only vacation all year... I wish I could do more but a week off from work is all I can manage and I'm not gonna spend the best week of my life waiting in line for 12 hours.
I do not understand why those who can not afford VIP are debating whether or not it is worth it.
Whether or not VIP is worth the extra cost should only really matter to people who can afford it as they are the ones deciding whether or not to spend the money.
VIP exists for the minority of attendees who can both afford it and are willing to pay more to receive extra perks and special treatment.
If someone either can not afford VIP or can afford it but does not need/want the extra perks then by all means they should enjoy GA the same as the other 70,000+ GA attendees do every year.
