I think the perfect latenights based on what i would go and see Thursday- The Killers- Which Stage Friday- Battles then STS9- This Tent Saturday- Lupe Fiasco then Snoop Dogg then NERD then Outkast- Which Stage
Seriously - I know people want to see thier favorite bands play - if you love The Killers - fine - but why would you want a late night consisting of 3min song - stop - 4 min song - stop - 3 min song - stop - epic 6 min song - stop .....
Don't you people like to dance? Are you really going to be rockin out to Mr. Brightside or whatever their Top 40 hit of the month is? Some songs that are so overplayed on the Top 40 radio... You want just another run of the mill show for one of the very few late night Bonnaroo shows you will have in your lifetime?
I don't know about you guys - but - I want something otherworldly after midnight on the farm.
I digress...
STS9 should be back this year.
Galactic is due.
Tea Leaf Green is deserving.
The New Deal needs to get some respect from Bonnaroo.
DJ Sasha should be Bonnaroo's house DJ - just playing like 16 hours a day at some tent burried deep into the woods where the sun never reaches the ground.
And... the Disco Biscuits should have a lifetime late-night contract with Bonnaroo.
I dont quite agree on your veiws of the killers but i do understand them. Being a huge killers fan and having seen them twice they do put on a great show with great lights and confettii and its always a good time. If they played bonnaroo i would say it would have to be at night and i think it should be thursday on the which stage. The which stage needs a thursday night headliner and the killers would be perfect. I agree that it would be a better show if the killers songs were longer, i think they need to just continuously play through multiple songs to get that feeling of longer songs.
I agree with everything you said after the killers and yes the disco biscuits should always be at bonnaroo

Maybe the Killers have gotten better but they were one of the absolute worst shows of Lollapalooza 2005. I'd be pretty hesitant to think they deserve anything better than a pre-headliner slot.

Muse late night would be a dream come true. They would be perfect for that type of set as they have an amazing stage/light set up and they can just rock out with the best of em.

The Killers would be a good late night band, imo. Personally, I think it's easy for people to hate on them without ever really listening to them or seeing them live. I know I did at one time.
I saw them headline at the Echo Project in '07 and they put on a really entertaining show. They rocked and had a great stage setup and light show. I'll admit it's not the most amazing/meaningful/epic music in the world, but to me The Killers are better than the Disco Biscuits, Tea Leaf Green, and any other band you just named. That's just personal preference though. You don't have to like them, but don't act like people that would want to see them at Bonnaroo are idiots.
The Killers are pretty much just a straight up rock/pop band. Not every song needs to noodle along for 15 minutes only to go nowhere.
And really, if you can't dance to the Killers, maybe you don't know how to dance to anything but jambands.

I am pretty sure I can only dance to jambands. I dont hate them though I dont like them either. I would just rather something that rocks a little harder or does something more unusual for my latenights. Like you said they are a pop band put them out in the daytime while I am saving it up to rage latenight.
Edit
Also Galactic, Bisco, STS9, and DJ Sasha are all a lot better than the Killers imo, and much more deserving of latenight.

I've seen the Killers.
They were horrible.
They would be even worse latenight - there are 10,000 better bands for a latenight.
If they played Bonnaroo, they would have to be a daytime show. Any band who graces the Which stage latenight plays for 3+ hours. The Killers don't do that. 90 minutes is more than enough.
And all the people who were trying to dance looked like idiots or posers.
Having seen both the Killers and the Disco Biscuits, I think Bisco is hands down a better act, especially for latenight.

I saw the killers at Echo project and ran in the opposite direction. Just not my type of music. They were giving me a hell of a bad vibe and so was half of the crowd at that time. I'm just not into the winey sounding front men. It came off as weak to me. just one guys opinion. On the other hand, I can withstand a Kings of Leon show. hm mmmm
and as for Benni Bennassi , my gf would love that.....but i think he is just to repetative, and i saw one of his music videos. it made me LOLz. Half naked chicks w/ power tools. hahahah I have this problem, if my girlfriend tells me some other guy used to like some music, you know one that she used to date, i automatically hate it because she used to be Murray states super whore i think.lolz.notreallyfunny.
But I'd be down for some hard house/techno like infected for sure!!!

is anyone familiar with Rabbit in the Moon? i'd never heard of them until coalessence fest this year, but i have never seen an electronic show like them before. fire, belly dancers, sparks, glowsticks, smoke, crazy costumes...

Never heard of them, but the name alone sounds like a Bonnaroo latenight act. I am also pro-glowsticks. Unfortunately, I don't think they will be allowed at Bonnaroo if they are bringing glowsticks . . . or at least they will confiscate them.

yea dude, they were at Echo Project in 07' and i saw them Quite interesting show to say the least. And the music was pretty good too. He talked into this voice changing thing and it sounded really robotic. Grinded this facemask thing w/ one of those steel grinders...sparks went everywhere.
He also came out in a bunch of different suites. Pretty cool stuff!!! I think Aly or Chefchick got some good pictures.

it would be quite the late-night act
They were at Echo if I remember correctly. I wasn't there, but everyone who saw them I do know has incredible reviews. I think chef has some phenomenal pics (duh ) of them somewhere on the boards too here... Probably have to dig them up in an old Echo thread though...
Just checked out the Glastonbury 2007 footage of the Killers, and it looks like an entertaining show. However, every single song sounds exactly how it does on the album. If they played for an hour and a half or so I would probably catch it and not complain about it.
I'm not saying that the Killers are my ideal late night, but I really think there's a really good chance they will play this year. Consequence of Sound has them listed as confirmed for Coachella, and that makes Bonnaroo much more likely. Look at all the people who have played Coachella/Roo in the past.
As far as their performance, they definitely won't play for 3 hours. Maybe they would be super late night What Stage. You never know. Bonnaroo is always throwing us curveballs.

heh, the only good thing I could see come out of that is that it would free up just a little bit of room at the other shows, where I'll be.
Just in my opinion, the later the Killers play the worse it gets. But that's just what I would do if I was in charge of the Bonnaroo line up and scheduling... which in all fairness I think I would be pretty good at that

i wouldn't really call a late night killers show a curveball
i think, my personal thoughts on the killers aside, that bonnaroo's late nights are just not the right fit for the killers. pre-headliner perhaps, but not late night

I can see them playing latenight, although I would probably go to whatever else was playing. I'd rather see them in a pre-headliners spot also.
They probably are better suited to a pre-headliner slot, honestly. I still think they'd be a good late night show, though. Maybe not on the Which stage...but at the same time, they're probably too big for a tent...
Anyway, I don't really care if they play late night or not.
The one band that I want for late night more than anyone else is The Hold Steady.

I'm seriously disappointed STILL that I missed Rabbit in the Moon at Ultra last year....
but Justice was playing at the same time. What's a girl to do?
I think that RiTM would be a GREAT latenight. Also I'm lobbying for Infected Mushroom, even though the last time I saw them they were a bit of a disappointment...too much guitar, not enough of their older sound...

Usually there is not really a lot of Coachella roo cross over except for some smaller primarily festie playing acts.

I would understand if the Killers were on the main stage during the afternoon Friday or Saturday; however, I think that being on the bill for Coachella would make it less likely the Killers play roo
