So who are the most probable late night acts this year? I think there's a good chance My Morning Jacket will NOT be on the farm this year, so there are a lot of open slots. Here's some bands that I think have decent shots:
Daft Punk, Phish, The Killers (I would almost bet that they get a late night set), Explosions in the Sky

The Black Keys would be great late night. I would love to see MMJ back, but I bet they won't do it again. I think Howlin' Rain would be a good late night band. They were in the Troo Lounge last year and were against MMJ, but they are a great band.
isn't MIA banned from the US? i think her last US show was at bonnaroo last year.
From what she's said in interviews she was a little premature in announcing 'roo as her last live show ever. She's either pregnant or just had a baby. she'll be back.

hmmm...i thought it had something to do with her dad/uncle/somebody being connected to terrorists. maybe that was misinformation.
The Killers (I would almost bet that they get a late night set)
I would certainly take this bet with you. If they give the Killers a late night slot I would be utterly dumbfounded. In fact, if they're even on the line up at all I'd be just a little sad I think.

Yeah, I heard something to that effect as well, and that gave rise to some visa problems for her... not entirely sure though.
Personally... whether or not they come back this year, I think Gogol needs a late night. It's just way too hot during the daytime to dance the way you should at a punk show. With all they've done for Roo, I think they really deserve it.

you know, i'm not the biggest gogol fan in the sense that i would never stick in one of their cd's just to listen to them. but, i finally saw them live at ACL this year, and the shows are definitely rocking. i could totally be down for some late night gogol with crazy lights.

^ That's all you needed Wolfman. They are worse live. No thanks to the Killers, especially late night.
The Black Keys is an excellent recommendation. I will have more comments when I'm not so exhausted.
Oh, and there is these guys I've heard of . . . Robert Randolph and the Family Band. They would be ideal. Just saw them at the Electric Factory last night. They blew the place up. I'm serious; if you live in Philly, drive down 7th street and look for the Electric Factory. It isn't there anymore - totally exploded.

No offense but i'm so tired of hearing about this Girl Talk dude. He is weak. I liked the guy that opened up for him with the video clips while he DJ'd. I'd rather see a rapper out there doing his thing or a group of them; Wu, Snoop/Dre or both, shit maybe even Lil' Wayne. Atleast he's original.
And i Dont even like rap.......
As for the latenights - I'm hoping they will be filled with lots of phish, but if not I'll take another helping of Primus/STS9/Daft Punk/Mule/Phil Lesh and Friends/ABB. or dare I say..... LES CLAYPOOL AND THE FLYING FROG BRIGADE. and finally -- A pink floyd tune or two on the farm!!!
o Yea, Girl Talk is getting pretty massive. I would almost say he could replace Tiesto's spot.
Oh...I'm sorry...were you being serious?? IMHO Girl Talk has gotten WAAAY beyond Tiesto in the last year(even though I was underwhelmed by his last release in comparison to his formers...but that's just me)....I would be surprised to see GT at Roo this year just because he HAS gotten so HUGE and can't see him as a headliner and really almost TOO big for a late night tent...and just not the vibe for the Which stage .....
