Would people be pissed off if this Phish rumor becomes truth, and its Phish as a headliner and a late night as well (as in them just playing from 9-3 instead of just 9-12/1??
Probably the wrong thread but it could have something to do with this...eventually I love phish so I would have absolutely no problems with that.
But that aside, My top three would have to be Daft Punk, STS9, Primus/Les & FFB

The only reason I might be disappointed by that is because at 3 when they end, anything I see after that will just seem sub-par in comparison

i would love to see daft punk play a latenight, but the odds of it happening are about 0.1%. i see their name get thrown around a lot, but i dont understand why. its sort of like people who want pink floyd to play - yeah, duh - but it isnt going to happen.
fyi: id love to have both, but its more interesting to discuss what's possible...

i guess i'm just not convinced the way i was with LZ last year that phish isn't an option. i think if they were going to play any festival(other than their own of course) that roo would be it.
The Killers are pretty much just a straight up rock/pop band. Not every song needs to noodle along for 15 minutes only to go nowhere
This. I don't think a band needs to jam out every single song or have songs that are longer than 3/4 minutes to play late night. So what if they put on an hour and a half show? If it's good, it doesn't matter. Sigur Ros was only two hours and it was the best show I saw the whole weekend this past year.

i think the sweetest think for a latenight in 09 would be to give Bisco STS9 and The New Deal a 4+ hour time slot in a tent to just do whatever together id love to see all those guys just throwing it down on stage together for hours on end
^ yeah ive always wondered why they havent played roo yet. they seem like the perfect fit and bonnaroo seems smart enough to give them a late night.
also...i may be beating a dead horse but moe. really needs to come back and do a latenight. it was what the very first bonnaroo since their last late night?

Yeah, well while I'm sure it was still an incredible show and a great way to spend an afternoon, I was mainly pointing out that even if a band screams "latenight" it doesn't mean they'll necessarily play at that time. Just in my opinion, Umphrey's is more inclined to play late night than thievery corp

Precisely. Before last year's schedule came out, I would've put money on !!! getting a late night set, but I'm glad I didn't find someone willing to take me up on that bet.
The big thing to remember is both late nights are going to be full of conflicts to make sure the crowd stays spread out. The worst was the Flips/Mule/Galactic hip hop superjam conflict, followed by last years MMJ/Superjam/Tiesto/Bisco epic conflict. I dont know that there is any formula to it but it always seems a pretty big mix of tunes.
I love phish so I would have absolutely no problems with that.
