Hey guys I wanted to post that I got official confirmation from my source earlier tonight in an email, my source has known Bruce Springsteen for over 40 years and is best friends with Bruce's manager. I have been annoying him for months about the possibility of Bruce but he would never acknowledge me by giving me a yes or no that Bruce was playing. In the last three years he would always tell me right away no because he would just call Bruce's manager and then relay the message but now he finally emailed me saying he's allowed to tell now that Its official from the Bruce camp that Bruce will headline and he was also told that Phish is confirmed also. My source is the real deal I wish I was able to provide a link but in this case I can't. Because of my friend I have been able to meet Bruce and hang out with him about 4 times in the last 5 years so I know he is not lying. He told me Bruce camp is planning on unveiling the upcoming tour dates right after the Super Bowl performance that is why Bonnaroo moved the annoucement of the lineup up to a few days after the Super Bowl to coincide with Bruce making the annoucement. I know that I will be smited for making this post up until we get the official lineup but to give myself some credibility I have never posted in the past any confirmations of bands or rumors. I just know this to be a FACT because I made friends with this guy about 6 years ago and found out through our friendship that he grew up with Bruce. I will never make a claim I wouldn't back up with my honesty and to be honest he's one of only 2 people I know in the music industry. I had a feeling the boss was official last month when my friend bought tickets the day they went on sale and normally he doesn't do that until the lineup comes out but now I have confirmation from him and I need to make sure I get a ticket when they go on sale. Phish and Bruce will sell out quick.
I believe you. Too bad this will eff up my chances of getting tickets last minute...who knows though. I's love to see Phish but don't care too much about Springsteen. I'd check it out for sure but would rather see someone else.

I forgot to mention my friend wouldn't say what day he was performing but from my perspective we will know when Bruce annouces the tour dates they won't give bonnaroo 6/12-6/14 and that he will probably give an exact date.

headlining has always meant sat. right? that's then top billed act always plays.
I have a hard time believing that Bruce would play Sat and Phish would split Friday and Sunday. If Phish is playing 2 nights they are the main headliner for the weekend and probably get the Saturday slot. As far Bruce goes I would think he would get the Friday slot since usually a jam band closes out Sunday.

you may be right. i think that is how they did it in 05? with dmb top billed, they played fri. and wsp played sat. and sun. so it will be bruce fri., phish sat. and sun.
Looks like the chances of me going to Rothbury or Lolla are going through the roof.
i'm actually with you there. well, probably not going to those fests, but not going to roo if this is true. they will have to have a very good undercard to get me there. and also the wife will be difficult to convince.
I don't know that Phish is necessarily a lock for two headlining spots. It seems like one headlining show and one late night is just as possible at this point.
no, probably bruce fri., phish sat. and sun. i bet i bet springsteen is billed over phish on the poster. which is what top billing means.
lol, i thought the top bill always meant saturday? and Phish will be the very first name on the bonnaroo lineup if they play. NO DOUBT
well they have been changing the way they do things, if you haven't noticed. kanye late night what stage, jack johnson being billed as 3rd headliner, but playing before pearl jam. so yea, i guess what always was, isn't true anymore. but i would be willing to wager that bruce will be billed ahead of phish on the lineup.

that too. and we don't know if the dead is in the mix or not.

I could DEFINITELY LIVE WITH THAT. any way it goes, this looks like its a bonnaroo not to be missed, imo.

Jack Johnson was originally scheduled to be the Sunday closer - then the Allman's cancelled - AC/Superfly pulled in WSP and moved Jack Johnson. So - JJ was actually the third headliner until the last minute.
anyway - if Bruce is playing Friday night - I hope the late night line up is great cuz I will be back at camp catching a nap
I think it's a toss-up as to who would be top billed between Phish and Springsteen. I mean, in the grand scheme of things, Springsteen is bigger. But obviously Phish is huge in their own right, especially with the festy crowd. I could see that going either way.
