Hey guys I wanted to post that I got official confirmation from my source earlier tonight in an email, my source has known Bruce Springsteen for over 40 years and is best friends with Bruce's manager. I have been annoying him for months about the possibility of Bruce but he would never acknowledge me by giving me a yes or no that Bruce was playing. In the last three years he would always tell me right away no because he would just call Bruce's manager and then relay the message but now he finally emailed me saying he's allowed to tell now that Its official from the Bruce camp that Bruce will headline and he was also told that Phish is confirmed also. My source is the real deal I wish I was able to provide a link but in this case I can't. Because of my friend I have been able to meet Bruce and hang out with him about 4 times in the last 5 years so I know he is not lying. He told me Bruce camp is planning on unveiling the upcoming tour dates right after the Super Bowl performance that is why Bonnaroo moved the annoucement of the lineup up to a few days after the Super Bowl to coincide with Bruce making the annoucement. I know that I will be smited for making this post up until we get the official lineup but to give myself some credibility I have never posted in the past any confirmations of bands or rumors. I just know this to be a FACT because I made friends with this guy about 6 years ago and found out through our friendship that he grew up with Bruce. I will never make a claim I wouldn't back up with my honesty and to be honest he's one of only 2 people I know in the music industry. I had a feeling the boss was official last month when my friend bought tickets the day they went on sale and normally he doesn't do that until the lineup comes out but now I have confirmation from him and I need to make sure I get a ticket when they go on sale. Phish and Bruce will sell out quick.
There is still an important question, which hasn’t been addressed. Is it just Bruce or is it Bruce and the E-Street Band?
Im sure the essential Springsteen has a lot of great tracks on it. But to really capture the energy a live recording is the place to start. With the E Street Band - check out Live in Barcelona, Live in NYC, or Hammersmith.
There is also the Live in Dublin recording with the Seeger Sessions Band which is excellent but a little different from what I would expect him to play at Roo.
my mom, not a bruce fan, saw the barcelona show on tv one night. she dvr'ed it. she then proceeded to play songs from it everyday for a month.
i bought her the dvd to lessen the strain on her dvr for xmas.
ive seen him at the boston garden. it was okay. not amazing. i dont think i get him...

I guess I will be napping or hanging at the campsite while he plays. I really can't stand his voice and he is one of very few artists that I won't go and see. This is kind of disappointing for me but if we are getting 2 nights of Phish I am still happy
LOL cracks me up that I lost karma after I posted this. I'm not slamming anyone, or putting down his music. I acknowledge that he is a legend and I am sure he puts on a great show. This is just my personal preference and his voice grates on my nerves.
If any of you want to get a feel for his love show and the energy we are talking about, check out the DVD that came with the 30th anniversary of Born to Run. I know it is on Netflix and YouTube. It is the vdeo from the Live at Hammersmith '75 CD they released. It is great, check it out.

I'm sure it would be with the E Streeters. They have an album coming out and are doing a tour.
And I'm pretty sure Max Weinberg wil be there. He's always made Bruce the priority over Conan and it's a weekend so no taping of the show. Sylvio will be there also but he'll be dressed like some half-ass gypsy.

I without a doubt believe it will be with the Full E Street Band. My source told me 2 months ago Bruce was gonna tour spring of 09 and that he was going to do the superbowl before he got annouced to play the superbowl halftime. Also there is no doubt that Max Weinberg will be playing with the band. Max has always put Bruce ahead of Conan and Conan can always get a replacement drummer for the taping of the show. The tour should end around the time of Bonnaroo because Conan is taking over the west coast in June or July for Leno's spot

^^^this would rock,even though I'm not too psyched about Bruce but if it was Gov't Mule late night it would totally justify that for me and I could rest for the epicness
Doesn't VanZandt have a stable of artists that he promotes? His Underground Garage? I wonder if they'll give him a tent like Rothbury did for the Dresden Dolls last year?

That would be great music, and Underground Garage is an excellent theme for an area kinda like the New Orleans one last year.

If they gave Little Steven an Underground Garage Tent it would, IMO, greatly increase the odds that the New York Dolls would make an appearence at Bonnaroo, because I think they would be a lock as headliner of this tent

not to step on anyones toes here...i just hope that bruce isnt there and for some reason this guy got bad info....again nothing against springsteen fans but i just really hope he is not there....i think it would be a waste of one of the headliners
