Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I'm thinking maybe we should do an inforoo poll on what song we(as a group) would like to request. We could do the poll and then try to get that request through to Bruce.
What songs would you suggest? Fair warning, if you say I'm On Fire or Born To Run, I will custie you.
haha of course id love to hear those songs but i dont think they are sign worthy as they will most likely be played, i would however like to put in my vote for lost in the flood.
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

I second this vote for Lost in the Flood. That was my first thought. I will probably bring my own sign for NY City Serenade or Incident but I certainly support a LOST IN THE FLOOD sign on behalf of the people of Inforoo. I think we should start a poll.

OK I was thinking it over about some songs that would make a good poll. My thoughts were to keep it limited (maybe 10ish)
- Lost in the Flood - Jungleland - Incident on 57th Street - I'm Goin Down - Fire - Detroit Medley - Sherry Darling - Racing in the Street - Trapped - Kitty's Back
I tried to think of some good summer songs. Among other songs I thought up was Meeting Across the River and NY City Serenade. Those were the big summer songs though that came to mind for me. Although I think Jungleland is given for Bonnaroo. I can see him pointing and saying "we're going to meet beneath that giant Bonnaroo sign (the arc) that brings this fair city light."
I'm kinda secretly hoping for Mary's Place but its not worth a sign.
this has already probably been mentioned ,but Bonnaroo is The Boss's laSt US tour date - of the summer so says his website!
That's one reason I think a lot of hardcore Bruce fans may snatch up some late sale tickts and show up at 'Roo.The first leg ends in Jersey, and then they're off to Europe for a couple of weeks, prior to 'Roo.I think some degree of Bruce withdrawl may set in when there isn't a show 3 or 4 times a week...
Most people are expecting a 2nd US leg including the Midwest, but there is no way to determine when that will be released.Bruce specifically mentioned Detroit and Cleveland at the Super Bowl Press conference, and Cleveland is a huge Bruce market that has been ignored so far.I'm in Indiana and have to go all the way to St Paul to see a show on this first leg,so it's possible other midwesterners will get 'Roo fever as well...
Thunder Road Racing In The Streets Stolen Car The Wrestler Growing Up Spirits In The Night Jungleland
That is a great list, and I actually expect we'll get the majority of those.I'd say TR,Wrestler, and Spirits are almost givens, with Racing and Jungleland getting a more than decent shot.
Rosalita is also a pretty definitive choice, imo, and one of my sign choices for the last show I went to was Stolen Car.Throw in a better than average shot for Growing Up,which has been covered by Eddie V,as well as some younger bands, and I'd say you're nearly batting 1000...
I have one of those, and it's a solid shirt for the price.I've been looking into developing a special shirt commemorating Bruce at 'Roo,along the lines of 2 legends meeting up.Thinking maybe somebody over at BTX can come up with something...
I remember reading a few weeks ago that the Boss was thinking about playing an entire album at some point on the tour. What are the chances that he plays the entire Born To Run album, start to finish, at Bonnaroo? That would be amazing.

Just wanted to let you guys know that i'll be seeing bruce in greensboro tonight. I'll let you all know how that goes.
During this tour he has asked for song requests via sign...at one of his concerts someone requested Raise Your Hand. Since that concert he has played Raise Your Hand in the middle of his set at every show and that is a signal to the crowd to raise their signs up in the air for song requests. Most of these have been covers including London Calling and I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide, amongst others.
So in terms of song requests it would be great if we could think up a great cover that we think he could handle at bonnaroo.
If I had to request a bruce song it would be My Love Will Not Let You Down...he opened with this on he 2000 reunion tour and it was awesome but he really hasn't played it since. I'd also love to hear Thunder Road simply because I haven't heard that one since 2002.

Not sure if Mike Telesca and his Granite Falls Middle School students are planning on a return trip to Greensboro this evening or not.Keep an eye out for them, they were a big hit at the last Greensboro show.
Here's a link to their website, and some pics from the show last year.I especially love the Clarence for President sign, and the tag about "busting out of class".
Saw this review posted on BTX and thought this quote was particularly key:
"At this point in human history, Bruce Springsteen could probably be airlifted into the middle of any city, suburb, or patch of farmland in America with nothing but a guitar and the shirt on his back and with a simple "Un, ooh, hee, fow!" have every man, woman, and child within a half-mile radius throwing their fists in the air. Such is the power of the Springsteen phenomenon, a curious amalgamation of American musical styles that has come to represent, for many, all that is anthemic and earnest."

This reminds me of something I've always thought about if any man in this country were to ever try and lead a revolution where the people would not question his integrity or intention and would follow him without hesitation it would be Springsteen, its the undeniable power Bruce has.

Greensboro show was awesome. Best crowd at any bruce show that I can remember. I wish we got rosalita or kitty's back instead of glory days to finish it out but i really cant complain. Cool to see jay weinberg on the drums. Great to hear Growin Up. Little Steven went off on his guitar on Johnny 99. Everyone sounded in sync as they always do. Can not wait for june 13th.
OK,I'm on record as saying that American Land is not one of my faves.I'm just not a big Seeger Sessions fan, although that is in relation to bruce music, not other stuff that's out there...
Anyway,I'm hitting the road in about 6 hrs for my 10 hr drive to the Twin Cities.I hope to be in the Pit,and get to witness Bruce flying thru the air towards me,like this great video of AM Land from PSU Friday night.Imagine how crazy this will be at 'Roo,and keep in mind that this is at the end of an almost 3 hr long show by the Legendary E Street Band...
Dancing in the Dark isnt exactly my fav song by Bruce but I always think how awesome would it be to sing this with tens of thousands of other people at Roo. It gave me chills
The new non-synth driven, guitar rocked out version of Dancin' In The Dark is a ton of fun. The beat just encourages everyone (Bruce included) to jump up and down. Tens of thousands of people going, "HEYYYYYYY BABY!" is pretty damn awesome too.
Dancing In The Dark has gotten me through some hard times, as cliche as it is. I am absolutely praying for it to be at Roo. Seeing it on the setlists gives me hope.

Has he been playing Tom Joad? That's all I want to know...cause that is ALL I want to hear at Roo...and I'll be One Happy Girl! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Yes he has. On all of his sets thus far he has either played Youngstown or Ghost of Tom Joad after Johnny 99 and Seeds. Just saw Joad played in greensboro last week and Nils had a nasty solo!
Check out backstreets.com to see all of his setlists on this tour so you can get a feel for what he is playing.
