All I'm doing is spreading the information I was given because I believe in it. I wouldn't have posted it if I didn't and I wouldn't want to mislead anybody or have anybody mislead me when it comes to finding out who is playing Roo. I knew there would be criticism and it will continue until we get the lineup.
Sorry, I was just being an arse because that popped in my head when I read the way you worded my source his source. It just made me sing that song..and I in no way doubt you
I'm a little skeptical of them booking a major coup Coachella headliner the following year. Prince playing there last year was a major deal. It becomes less of a deal for Roo if they are trumpeting Coachella's sloppy seconds. (And every article about the lineup will end up mentioning their rival festival -- assuming the rivalry exists at that level and is not just perceived by us message board types.)
That said, I'd be happy to see Prince regardless of the PR hit the festival might take.
Tool played Bonnaroo a year after playing Coachella. Radiohead played Bonnaroo 2 years after playing Coachella. Pearl Jam played Roo a year after playing Lollapalooza. It could happen. I'm skeptical too, but I don't think him playing Coachella last year would stop them from booking him.
Just to add a little more kindle to the quickly dying Springsteen fire, Norway is 8 hours ahead of Manchester, TN. So if Springsteen played a show in Norway on Wednesday Night, he would have an extra 8 hours to get from Norway to Manchester for whichever night he would hypothetically be playing...
My source knew about the Europe tour and said that Bruce has in the past played a night in Europe then jetted home after the show to play a show the next day in New Jersey many times in the past.
a look at his tour dates over the past 8 years or so ( www.brucespringsteen.net/live/index_2005.html )shows that the shortest time between continents was 4 days between boston and dublin in 04. It just seems unlikely that the entire band would put up with jetting back and forth between continents for one day. I don't know much about bruce though, so i might be way off base.

I consider the info I got today in my email just as credible, because he mentioned Bruce playing Glastonbury, and my source isn't too into the festival scene he's only been to bonnaroo the last 3 years and never any other festivals so his knowledge of Glastonbury surprised me a little. As for the recent tour history the shows that Bruce has played were private charity shows in New Jersey right after some of the Europe tours so they weren't officially listed public shows. I do not know if any of those private charity shows were full band so you might be on to something about the full band flying back so soon. However my source did hint at Bruce's show being later in the weekend.

I would actually prefer edgecrushers rumor also, but like I said before I'm just sending along the info I get, and I would never try and mislead because I don't want to be mislead
They way I see it, with that much of a break in the European schedule Bruce and the band would come back to America anyways. Why not come back, do a gig, then enjoy your two weeks before heading back to Europe. Or maybe I'm just really hoping Bruce will be there.
I think definitely two earlier contentions have been dispelled. Those being Bruce doesn't do festivals and no tour after June due to Max's other gig.
I'm so ready to see Springsteen at Roo this summer that I'll be dissapointed if it's not him... with that being said, seeing the Kinks on the lineup instead will change that dissapointment to happiness.

Are The Kinks touring?
No... but is Brucey touring the US? There's been rumors that they would reunite for a tour. In fact, I've heard that Coachella is specific of one of those rumors. So why not Bonnaroo? Would be a nice little surprise at the top of the lineup... and would set Bonnaroo apart from every other festival.

Supposedyl North American dates will follow the European tour.
We do have the Rolling Stone article as well. That doesn't make it confirmed but it's stronger than some unknown guy on a message board.
who's to say Rolling Stone didn't get their info from lurking on these boards. They offer no credible source or even a mere reference as to why they say Bruce will be at 'roo. At least OP gave his source of a good friend who has known Bruce for many, many years...BS or not he DID at least state a source. I don't think RS article gives this rumor anymore merit, frankly.
I don't care what you say about me, just spell my name right---P.T. Barnum "As I was walking up the stairs I met a man who wasn't there He wasn't there again today I wish to God he'd go away."

R.S. said it was the same source as the Phish rumor. It was someone in the Phish organization.
if the dead is also on the lineup: fri. phish sat. bruce with phish late night sun. the dead
I'd rather see the Dead Saturday Night with freedom to play as long as they want. Also Dead>Phish would just be insane. It also leaves more room for collaborations
Also I want to be extra twisted for the Dead show, and I'd like to take it relatively easy on Sunday.

my iniitial idea was fri. bruce sat. the dead/phish sun.phish/the dead
but we don't know if bruce can make fri. and we don't even know if the dead will be there.
