I've been having lovely, peaceful, exciting Bonnaroo dreams for months now. I had an amazing, amazing time last year and have been looking forward to going back all year. But when I saw the lineup I nearly cried. Bruce Springstein, JayZ, Phish? I know Phish is really popular for Bonnaroo crowd, but I am not a fan. I'm so disappointed. I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't like the lineup! The only bands I'd see are TV on the Radio, The Decemberists, and Of Montreal. Is anyone else sad and not going because of the lineup this year? Just curious. I'm not trying to knock the bands...I'm just sad.
yes, you are the only one who hates the lineup...
but on the bright side, think of all the money you saved!!!!!!!!!
No one EVER expects triple shits. They are elusive and rare, but when one cometh, you'd best be prepared.
You speak words of wisdom, good sir. I think it's a conspiracy against the guy in the middle. After "they" pick him off, they go for the outside shits, until the shits are no more.

Kanye said that he hates the lineup too and I think the guy who runs the gas station by the farm also indicated his displeasure in the severe lack of Leanne Womack on the lineup.

Erinroo what was it that made your experience last year (your first time) such a great experience..Last year was my first time, and I had the greatest time of my life. As where the bands like Pearl jam, Metallica, Swell Season, Ben Folds, Yonder Mountain, Death Cab, and some others were extremely enjoyable. The people/enviroment of Bonnaroo was enough to come back this year....I'm not a huge Phish or Bruce fan, but I bet if you went, checked out some of the other bands, NIN, Portugal. The Man, Animal Collective, Jenny Lewis, Mars Volta, Paul Oakenfold, Coheed and Cambria, Girl Talk, that you'll find, you'll have just as much fun as last year.
I have to believe the OP hasn't taken the time to acquaint herself with other bands on the lineup. If she can only find three that she's excited about, either my assumption is correct or this isn't the festival for her.

Those are three of the bands I'm pretty excited about and judging by that there are a whole bunch of other bands on the lineup that I love. Like someone said "indie" this year is better than "indie" last year. Plus if you're looking for just an indie fest go check out pitchfork.

Erinroo,
Don't take all the negatuvity so seriously. Its ok not to like the loine-up, especially when you want to.
That being said, check out Stop Making Sense by the Talking Heads(david Byrne). Also, I picked up the new Mars Volta when the line-up came out and am rwally getting into it.
I was really p!ssed that Rick Astley wasn't on the lineup.
The key to a good rickroll is the element of surprise.
I think the word censor doesnt work if you put a quote touching the word "fuck" "shit" "bastard" "dick" "asshole" "kanye"
oh wait...
and i think even if you dont know the band name, there is a reason Bonnaroo added this [insert random band here] band to the lineup so at the very give them a listen. that works for me anyway
I didnt go last year because I was less than impressed with the line up and it was the biggest mistake I ever made....I hated sitting at home those days in june when I shoulda been on the farm. If you've been to Bonnaroo you know that its 50% seeing awesome shows from bands you love and 25% hearing music you normally wouldnt see/pay for and 25% just being at Bonnaroo. Maybe its not for you this year, just dont make the same mistake I did without thinking it through and asking yourself why you really go to bonnaroo
I'm not so sure the indie this year beats the indie last year. TV on the Radio, YYYs, Band of Horses, MGMT, Decemberists, Of Montreal, Animal Collective, Grizzly Bear, Okkervil River, Yeasayer, and Ting Tings to me are pretty equal to Death Cab, Iron and Wine, Broken Social Scene, Rilo Kiley, Tegan and Sara, MGMT, Vampire Weekend, The Fiery Furnaces, Rogue Wave, Cat Power, and Battles. Where Bonnaroo 09 seems to be clearly improving is on the jam band front with Phish, Gov't Mule, moe., Relentless 7, and Gomez outweigh Widespread Panic, Les Claypool, Umphrey's McGee, The Disco Biscuits, and Phil Lesh and Friends. Suppose its all in the eye of the beholder tho.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver
