By the time the work day is over... not happening. Diet change did it for me.. now to add the exercise. We got a puppy.. that should help.
This year I was 25 lbs lighter than last and it made a huge huge difference. And yet i see the pics and freak! 5'8, 47 at the end of the month, 160, and look like 260 in all of the pics. WTF! 145 for next years Roo!! come hell or high water.
How do you guys get the motivation to work out after work (if any of you do)?
I think you really have to go straight from work. The tricky part is you should eat something about 30 minutes before you go so you've got a few calories before you hit the gym and can wait for a later dinner.
I go in the mornings, but that was the only way I could consistently go. If I didnt I'd find myself only going once a week maybe twice.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
So y'all, I found a diet where you lose weight while you sleep! All you have to do is get a raging fever and live off Gatorade for 5 days...next thing you know, you'll have lost 9lbs!
It sucks. It reeeeeeeeally sucks. But damn if it doesn't work!
And hush your mouth about the Petro's, Mayo: I'm jonesin' hard for that cheesy, chili, spicy goodness right about now. omnomnom

Yep this, no effort whatsoever this week and I lost 3lbs such sitting around
How do you guys get the motivation to work out after work (if any of you do)?
I work out at home after work. I just have to go in and immediately change clothes and do my workout. If I sit around and let myself get comfortable I know the workout isn't going to happen. Eventually it just becomes a habit and you don't even really have to think about it. Sometimes I do have to tell myself, "It's 30 min to 1 hr out of your day and you'll regret it if you don't do it so just do it....the sooner you get started the sooner you'll get it over with!"

I had to quit my job in May because it wasn't giving me enough time to work out (70 hrs a week, some weekends, lots of nights...I just couldn't do it). I'd only been there since January, and it was REALLY hard to do, but it turned out to be the best decision I could make.
I got a new job and there's a gym on campus, so I'm planning to go at lunch if I can swing it. Also might walk to work...6 miles round trip! As someone else said, if I have to go after work, I have to go RIGHT after work or it doesn't happen.
My biggest challenge now is that the scale isn't moving at all, because I'm lifting heavy...I eat clean and I'm getting tighter and leaner and harder but the number on the scale is huge. Its hard to remind myself that its NOT actually "huge" in terms of a weightlifter, BMI is total BS and I'm gaining lots of muscle mass and losing fat. These things are so ingrained in us females....I probably need to stick to the tape measure and ignore the scale.
Fawnmart--you look GREAT to me!! I think we all look at pics and see things that aren't there. I have hundreds of pics of me on stage shot from RIGHT UNDER MY CHIN... talk about an ego crusher!

Damn girl, I hope you're feeling better finally!!!

Fawn! I thought you looked great! Everyone looked great and I'm glad to see that everyone's hard work is paying off.
I weighed myself before I left for Roo and was down 32.6 pounds. When I got back I was up 7 pounds, but fortunately that was all water weight. I hopped on the scale this morning and am officially down 35 pounds! I seriously thought I would still weigh more today than I did a week and a half ago because I did nothing but eat and drink while at Bonnaroo.
I did have one diet related victory while at Roo. I said no to those oh so yummy looking and smelling Amish donuts, even while suffering from the munchies. I stood in front of the booth, gazing in at all the warm gooey goodness, then told myself no. No, Krunchy, the last thing your fat, intoxicated ass needs is a donut. I would have gone broke eating them if I had bought one. I would have kept coming back like a fiend needing just one more fix.

Hahah Kat I turned down those doughnuts too. But not the CRIF dogs!! Love your progress on myfitnesspal as it serves as motivation for myself. I'm stuck at 178 and I can't seem to shake it.

Sounds like you all did a damn fine job at roo! You got plenty of that delicious delicious food and still came out ahead. Love it!
I've decided to prepare for the Urbanathlon in October. It's the week before I'll see many of you for the Color Run. Lots of work to be done this summer!

OH the amazing food I consumed at Bonnaroo this year! For some reason I ate more food at the farm this year than any of the past 3 years. Mayonaise: I agree....those Amish donuts were to die for almost! I ate 2 of those delicious treats during the week. Thankfully, I can't find them any where near my home! "Will power" tucked its tail and ran at the site of this place! Gabfrab: I wore a pedometer everyday. My biggest day was Thursday at almost 19,000 steps. The next biggest day was Sunday at 14,000. On a normal work day I average around 5,000 steps so 19,000 was a lot of walking. As far as exercising goes...since returning to reality I have not been able to get back in the routine of exercising. I'm slowly getting back to "normal" but it's taking awhile this year. I know I gained weight this year!

Starting work now for next year! I would like to loose at least half of the 100 lbs I have gained in the last year and half since loosing my mom... This year was rough, I did everything I wanted to do and seen everything I wanted to see BUT I want to see/do more for ROO 2013!
Bought new running shoes this morning! Yay! And I found last year's model in my size so they were like $20 cheaper. Sweet. Is everyone getting back in gear?
I need to get back in gear :/ I am not sure where I stand numbers wise right now. I haven't weighed in since May. Mountain Jam, Roo, and then last week my work retreat ran over and I missed the meeting. So this Friday it is. But I haven't been doing too hot. Coming back from Roo, besides a case of Bonnaflu and extreme exhaustion, it was my birthday and so there were those types of shenanigans. I planned to get back on track this week, but a I've been working until 11:30-12 at Cheesecake the past few nights which basically doesn't allow my to wake up at 5:30 for the gym. :/ So no gym in weeks and I haven't been able to grocery shop so I have been relying on (homemade) frozen soups and yogurt and such to get my through my days. My veggie in take is down WAY too low! It's hard to get back into it after such a long break...

Haven't posted in here in forrreverrrrrrr. Anyway, bonnaroo i did really well, and i think actually helped me out with my conditioning. Strange as it seems the amount of dancing/walking and eating sparingly (grilled cheese/cliff bars/granola). Kind of helped out in the fact i am not getting winded on 3 mile runs still. I started doing insanity last night, i figure this will help my core and get me in decent shape (not really looking to bulk up). Did pretty well last night, went swimming afterwards. Question: is eating corn after working out detremental to your work out? I mean i did insanity, went swimming then had a little guy to help me pass out.
lol i hope you are serious. People tell me it really slows down your metabolism, but these are people i wouldn't really believe. Regardless, i'm still dieting and burning a ton of calories so i can't imagine it being that horrible.... it's not like i'm going to stop.
Bonz-HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
p.s. i am very sorry for not going to the brunch and meeting all of you after sharing all this work out information... biggest regret of Roo:-(

I saw my sister for the first time since Christmas and she could tell right away that I'd lost weight and gotten more fit. Felt very happy with that. Have been kinda going a bit crazy with bad eating here in Portland but did jog along the ocean today!

I was getting into good shape over the last few weeks of Winter into early Spring, but I lost motivation as May arrived. I plan to start back on Sunday and let things get nasty.
I'll know the damage of Roo + 1-day-workout + Family Beach Trip tomorrow ??? Then back to bootcamp 6am M-F. Im not necessarily "looking forward to it" but im certainly not sad about it. I went on 3 little 2-mile runs this week at the beach, just to keep the joints loose, ya know. So hopefully I wont DIE on Monday.
Everyone sounds like they did GREAT just getting in better physical shape for the toils of the Bonnaroo marathon weekend. That is something to be proud of! Weight loss is a positive and encouraging side effect - but Im glad we all "Lost Weight (AND GOT FIT) before Roo" ;D ;D ;D

Just was out in the Badlands hiking and camping with old friends. Did 15+ miles yesterday on all kinds of terrain including about six of mostly walking in a river. I feel so fucking great.
