Congrats, Gabfrab. Hiking/mountain biking is a hobby I've been meaning to take up for a few months now. I'm thinking of heading out to Big Bend or Palo Alto later this year. I just need to quit this procrastinating and get started.
I managed to get back to the gym for for first time since Roo this weekend and feel confident in my ability to get back on track. Festivals totally ruin my reality!! I got up at 545 this morning to go, but then realized some work that I needed to get done, so I've been sitting on my computer. I still consider it a win because I am not sleeping! And I know getting this done is the smarter option!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Way to go Gabfrab! Hiking is something I've done in the past, and would love to get back to. You're an inspiration!
Now that it's July - I can say that June was not a success as far as losing, but a definite MAINTAINING success. Over June, I did a weekend wedding extravaganza (wedding PIE and boooooze), Roo (good lord, the Roo food), 8 days of beach (southern family food for 8 days?!) - and only 8 days of bootcamp, and maybe 5 days of running. ..... I gained about 4 lbs, and then lost them before July started. Soooo..... SUCCESS! Seriously, I learned a lot about making sacrifices and substitutions but still being able to enjoy myself (AMISH DONUTS but only one for the weekend... TEXAS SHORT RIBS but no buttery garlic bread... BOOOOOOZE but only water during the day). It's been enlightening.
I hope everyone is getting back into their routines after the fun that June gave us! Bonz, Im with you girl - Im feeling confident about getting back on track!!! WOO! Keep it up everyone! <3

Everyone needs a break!! It's just important to get back on that horse.
Mayo - Kick a$$ job on maintaining through all those good times! That's damn impressive.
Bonz - Getting the schedule resorted out is a huge step back. It's dang hard to wake up that early.
Krunchy - You're rockin it. I saw some posts on MFP.
Grabfab - hiking is so much fun! I wish I could go hiking, but I live in the most lame-o state for hiking. (Though I do get to wake up and run on the beach on the weekends. Yes, Chicago has a beach. I'll take a pic and post it for you all.)
I've been doing a solid job, but it has been pointed out to me that I'm getting a little too anal retentive about things. I'm so close to some of my goals that I tend to go a little overboard. Though last night I think I ate almost two pounds of steak. It was deliciously sickening.
^^^mmmm, steak. lets take steak to the pool party, chico!!! if i eat a slab of meat, i wont be as prone (or ABLE) to eating all the lovely carbs that will be around...

Since my girlfriend broke up with three weeks ago, I've been jogging/going to the gym daily (or at least the last two weeks...first week was spent wallowing on the couch) and eating much, much healthier both in terms of what I'm eating and how much of it. I've been on a loose pescetarian diet. I was up to 190 pounds and I've lost 15 pounds in the last few weeks, so I am at 175 now. My goal is to get down to a fit 150 I think. I have been drinking significantly more, but oh well. In general, I feel better physically than I have in a long while.

Down 3lbs since Roo. Not sure how or why. I've been eating more treats but also working out more. Date for quitting smoking is in 2 weeks from Friday with assistance from one of three NO NO WORD!!! in a blind study. SOooo I fully expect to have to work my ass off to keep anything I've lost off.
Did awesome last week, failed pretty hard his weekend with BBQ and family visiting. It's amazing how great i felt last week when i worked out 4 days in a row and how i am currently feeling sititng at work. Got to hit a rhythm i'm debating quitting the corn. Feel like that is currently my biggest down fall...

Been a while since anyone checked in here. I've been doing my thing. PT, gym, etc. Tonight I have a 5k at 730. I'm thinking it's still going to be around 85 degrees out. I'm hoping to not cook on this run.
Glad you are doing well, Chico! I am doing ok. I finally weighed in last week for the first time in about 5 weeks. I was up exactly a pound. I'll take it. But time to lose that pound and some more!

Insanity is a workout program like p90x, but from what I've been told by people who have done both, much more difficult. About an hour a day, 6 days a week, 60 day cycles. In the amount of time condensed per day it's far more intense than anything I did at MCRD. And Alisa, I haven't lost all that weight since July 2nd, I've been running 5k almost every day since my feet and legs recovered from roo. And I've been following a very strict 5x400cal/day meal plan, with the exception of the Nashville Hot Chicken Festival, and yesterday I treated a friend to some Mellow Mushroom and a few beers. I'm not super concerned with what the scale says either, since it can fluctuate according to time of day, water retention, when you last ate, etc. So Bonz, I wouldn't really worry about that one pound since you can have up to 5 pounds of food in your belly.

I started Insanity on July 2. I weighted in at 257 right before roo, and weighed in at 238 today.
19 pounds since Roo is awesome! I'm so close to my halfway point and I know I'm gonna have to start working harder and picking up a workout routine like Insanity. I don't mind the strength training I want to do but I don't wanna do the cardio. Oh my word the cardio is gonna kill me!
As of today I'm down 37.4 pounds with 42.6 to go. The hard part is just around the corner and I need to find my motivation. Maybe reward myself with a trip to Wacken Open Air 2014 if I can afford it?

Am I the only one that loses weight at Roo? I'm always too hot to eat and walk so much I lose at least 5 pounds. It's nearly cleansing for me, besides party favors.
Roohippie, I think we all lose weight at Roo! The point of this thread was for us to be in better shape before getting to Roo to ensure more energy and a better time.

Alright so i said thin in the read books lately thread, but i just picked up 4 Hour Body by Tim Ferris. So far i've really enjoyed it. It discusses all these off hand philosophies with working out and dieting and how to really approach everything to lose weight and get your body where you want it. Not to mention he is a really good writer. I suggest anyone check it out as i feel this book is really going to help me focus on what i want out of myself and my life.
I'm happy to say that I am back in the workout/weight loss mode. ;D
Been on the elliptical everyday this week, watching re-runs of The Daily Show & Colbert Report that were dvr-ed & keeping fingers crossed that DIRECTV & Viacom will get it together by Monday night.
Went to the doctor for a check-up & I was 3 lbs lighter than I was at Roo, so yay! She told me once again to stop running, so power walking & the elliptical will have to do.
And, it has been over 2 weeks since I gave up all caffeinated beverages, including my precious Cherry Dr Peppers. Still not happy about it, but drinking water works.

I think this whole idea of starting to take diet and exercise more seriously for roo right after a roo is a better plan than waiting til the lineup drops in February.
You are killing it, VV!! And let's tell the readers that you are doing awesome at kicking the cigarette habit as well. Dropping cigs AND losing weight! Rockstar.
I just went through my jean drawers and got rid of 7 pairs! Hopefully tomorrow I can continue to ravage through my clothes. But now.. to go drink wine and celebrate Bastille Day!
I thiiiink I might only have another 10, 15 lbs to go to reach where I want to be. Yeyyyaahhhh!

One more week until I restart the workout program. Lost and KEPT OFF 30 lbs pre roo. I only have 15 to 20 to go before I am where I want. See all of you a week from Monday.
