Have only cheated once in a week and a half. Tracking everything i consume and have lost nothing, so frustrating. Not giving up but man i feel like i am damned if i do and damned if i dont
Me too, but I know it will come off eventually because I've done it before. Keep it up!!!
I finally realized how close Bonnaroo is, and how disgusting I feel, so I really started putting in a big effort. I've done 10 days of less than 1100 calories a day, really healthy foods, lots of fruits and veggies, no chocolate (which was HUGE for me), reduced alcohol, and 30+ minutes a day on the elliptical and have not lost a pound. But I am on a mission now and I will lose these 10 lbs (hopefully before Bonnaroo)!!!

Exactly this. I just kinda woke up one day last and realized how little time there is and how much Roo will be better if I lose a couple of pounds and get a little more in shape... I've done pretty good the past two weeks or so. No where near where I really should be, but miles better than what I was doing before....
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Yikes! Be careful eating that few calories. 1100 is pretty low - I think 1200 is what most suggest for the bare minimum. Too long at that few calories and your body becomes stressed, which slows your metabolism*! Are you eating your calories back that you burn during exercise? A lot of people fall into that trap because MFP recommends it (you earned x calories today!!) but I'd definitely suggest against it. MFP is notoriously unreliable in regards to not only estimating your TDEE and BMR, but also the calories burned during exercise (it will tell me I burned 800 calories on a run, when my more accurate heart rate monitor says it's really 500 for example).
Also, as a general statement, I'd highly recommend anyone look into resistance training! Cardio is great (I am a diehard runner for many years), but honestly resistance training is far more important to weight loss. As you build muscle, you in turn increase your BMR (because muscles need more calories than fat), which in turn means you lose more weight!
*possible broscience, but the studies I've read all seem to back it up pretty well

I was doing 1200 and exercising and it wasn't working for me, so I figured I would eat a little less I don't plan on always eating this little for sure. I've been eating back about half the calories I think, and I go by the elliptical measurement and not MFP. The elliptical and walking are really the only easy options for me. I don't have a gym near me, and my left arm cannot straighten or lift anything. I have asthma so running would not be easy. I do other exercises like squats etc. after I'm done on the elliptical though.
I was doing great on chocolate until someone brought in home made chocolate truffles and left them in the break-room

biked my butt off in florida this past weekend, and my right knee got really sore at the top of my kneecap - felt like someone had inflated a little balloon behind the kneecap. it's my brother's fault for pedaling like a demon while i try to keep up
the gym is closed for the next couple weeks on campus so i think i'm gonna try running and hope that doesn't aggravate my knee, which is now feeling fine. failing that i may pull out p90x yoga or something from my laptop and go to town.
we're on the home stretch here, folks! i'm gonna do my best to be militant about sticking to it between now and then.

Can we share what we are eating? Maybe tomorrow everyone can keep track of a very specific (what it is, how much of it, homemade vs. restaurant) typical day and we can post it? I am very curious (ok, I am nosey) as to what everybody is eating.

People that use MFP can actually share their entire diaries with others. I'd post mine, but I haven't used it in a month as it's impossible to track all of that here.

Here is an idea of mine:
Breakfast - Fiber one granola bar, a banana, or a fruit smoothie (banana, berries, mango, almond milk, etc.)
Snack - Banana, or apple, or raw almonds
Lunch - 1 small bowl of homemade curried carrot and onion soup and slice of homemade rosemary bread, or a roasted veggie soup, or sometimes a lean cuisine frozen meal
Snack (sometimes) - Sensible portions veggie chips or a few tortilla chips with homemade salsa
Dinner - 1 cup of home made chicken or tempeh curry with 1 cup of basmati rice and 1/2 piece of Naan bread, or 1/2 grilled chicken breast with cous cous and some steamed veggies, or a piece of grilled salmon with baked sweet potatoes.
I usually have a rum and diet coke or two, but not every day. Sometimes 2 glasses of white wine. I've cut down on both lately.
I try to drink at least 40 oz of water a day. I drink the occasional green tea or coffee (maybe 2-3 a week). No soda unless it's with rum
I do 25-35 minutes on the elliptical and about 5 minutes of other exercises like squats etc. I've done this every day for 10 days now.
jenny, I'll be down to post here tomorrow! Like Bansh said, we can always try out MFP, too. I've never been a good tracker and often forget to "complete" the day even if I do track. But I can try, FOR YOU! Either way, we can check in here or there. Or try both.
My food is weird and random. I don't necessarily believe in "breakfast foods." For example, my breakfast today was coffee in the early AM and then roasted brussel sprouts in a chimmichurri sauce around 9:30. Man were those brussels good... My lunch was kind of hectic so I ended up eating hard-boiled egg and baby carrots. It's usually more well rounded than that and I would eat a little more right now (Yogurt? Veggie soup? Sliced turkey?), but I need to be hungry to eat "first dinner" at 4 since I have to work tonight...

After gaining 27 pounds during the last year and a half (depression's a bitch) I'm back on the wagon. I've been using MFP almost daily. I've found this time that skipping breakfast and having two bigger meals is working for me. I don't feel like I'm hungry all the time and can still eat mostly what I want in larger quantities. I've lost 9.5 pounds in the last month and most days I've been between 1350-1600 calories. I'm making sure I've got veggies and/or fruit with every meal and cutting back on eating so much junk. Y'all can friend me on MFP too. My user name is krunchykat. And don't judge my diary either! Some days it looks ridiculous.
Breakfast: 1.5 C Whole Milk with 1.5 C Special K Snack: Bannana Lunch: Usually chicken and rice or a sandwich no sides Snack: apple or banana Dinner: 1 chicken breast and 2 servings of corn or peas (I season but dont use any sauce on anything)
If I had a heavy workout day I'll add on a protein shake or two hard boiled eggs.

I joined a boot camp gym two months (to the date) prior to Roo 14. Told my trainer: "you got 60 days to get me in shape". Can't wait to see the results. Feeling great so far. See you on the farm!
Here's a typical day. I pretty much eat the same things everyday.
Breakfast: a banana with black coffee or 1-2 eggs Snack: a piece of fruit or a latte Lunch: Some type of salad or a shit ton of chips and salsa Snack: More chips and salsa or hummus or a handful of peanuts ( I love peanuts!) Dinner: Chicken or cheeseburger(no bun)on the grill or an egg scramble Snack: more chips and salsa

I admire either your time budgeting or your ability to wake up early enough to make eggs every morning. Are they hard boiled in advance?
One thing that I've found really helpful is fasting during the morning. For the past month I've been waiting until 2:30ish each day to eat lunch, and I've found that fitting all of my calories in between 2:30 and bedtime allows me to have much more satisfying meals. Eating throughout the day always had me never really hungry, but never full or satisfied either. Also, apparently after 12 hours of no calories, the body starts to use its fat stores for energy because the glycogen stores left over from the last meal have been depleted, giving a slight fat-burning advantage after 12 hours. A lot of people doing intermittent fasting eat between 12 and 8; I push my meal time later in the day because I stay up late and often have evening munchies. I find that now that my body is used to it, I don't even start getting hungry until noon or so, then a cup of black coffee staves off the hunger pangs until lunch time. Overall I find it easier to coordinate my meals and I'm much more satisfied at the end of the day. I'm sure it's not for everybody though. And for those looking to build or maintain muscle, have a scoop of BCAAs before working out while still in the fasted state, otherwise you're more likely to burn muscle instead of fat. If you work out after breaking the fast you should be fine.

Hard boiling takes the longest! Maybe it's just cause i'm used to it but eggs are super fast. But I do have time in the mornings. If i don't fit it in before getting my son to school I do it afterwards. I don't work till 3pm.
