I love reading this thread! It makes me feel empowered when I am getting a little down and off-track. I am interested to hear about the T25 program. I am thinking of getting it so I can do something at home when I just can't drag the kids to the childcare center at the gym.
My kid loves doing it with me, or at the very least he sits back with his drink and watches me workout and periodically yells "beach body!" at me. Either way, it works.
IT's 25 minutes a day Monday - Thursday. On Friday you do 2 back to back workouts. Sunday you stretch.
There are 3 cycles (each are 4-5 weeks long and vary each week as to when you'll do which video). Alpha, Beta, and Gamma (gotta purchase gamma seperate unless you buy deluxe package).
I'm just on alpha -- your building block for the other cycles. Basically there is a cardio day, speed, lower body, abs, full body.
THERE IS A MODIFIER CHICK ON EVERY VIDEO for those that have knee problems or are just beginning. You still get a legit workout.
Basically, you're doing HIIT programs every day. He has a timer on the screen telling you what is coming up next and he's beautiful to look at. Absolutely beautiful lol It's fun and most days you can easily talk yourself into doing it... bc it's ONLY 25 minutes. There is a small cool down for each video.
I still incorporate a scaled down version of my weight lifting program each night after doing the T25 program. They really want you to do shakeology meal replacements but it's 129 a month.
I looked online for video clips to make sure it was something I could do before i threw down the money. I absolutely love it and I was one of those skeptical people who was like WTF IS ALL THIS BEACHBODY SHIT QUIT POSTING ABOUT IT kind of chick.
i am one million percent an emotional eater. since my dog passed away a few weeks ago, i've been carbing away my sadness. i did get myself back into the gym 5 days a week, but i'm having a hard time getting my eating back on track after all of the mac and cheese and pizza and garbage. i know that fries are only satisfying in the moment and aren't actually making me feel better, but man, salad is just not that appealing sometimes.
I hear that. Especially when my co-workers eat out a lot and I make myself pass because I have a salad. It helps me usually if I make it the night before and put a lot of delicious stuff in it. My new favorite is baby spinach, strawberries, feta and some balsamic vinegar. I also like lots of crunchy things in my salad.

Cool, thanks for breaking it down for me!
I will have to decide if it's worth it for me. I really just want to supplement what my typical routine is one or two days a week but maybe I'd be shorting myself by not doing it the program as it's intended. Everybody does love the shit out of this program!
I'm gonna try hopping on the smoothie train for a bit to see if I can eat more nutritionally, since I literally don't eat vegetables. I have a Magic Bullet and my coworker has a Ninja so if anyone has any healthy smoothie recipes that aren't incredibly high in sugar, I'd love to hear about them.
Sadly, it's also time for me to focus on losing weight instead of gaining it, so this post is also serving as a longing farewell to my days of binge-eating pizza and eating 8 eggs at a time. I have no problem losing weight when I need to, as I'm fairly disciplined and know how to track calories and such - it's just not fun at all. My main concern is maintaining the strength and muscle gains I've made over the fall/winter, but it's so much more taxing to life heavy when running a caloric deficit. We shall see.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

I like using kefir as a base. I add whatever I have in the fridge. Spinach, other greens, avocado, carrots, and always some kind of frozen berries like blueberries or strawberries and chia seeds.
Does anyone have any experience with non Fitbit brand wristbands? The wristband is breaking (there's a rip where you pull the actual fitbit in and out), so I want to replace it. I was going to go right for the name brand bands, but they seem to have about the same number of stars as most of the alternatives. Does anyone have any experience? Should I go for the real thing or save money (and have more color and design options) on another brand?

I had 2 up bands and I broke them both but they did the job. I got my fitbit pretty cheap on eBay. It came in "bulk packaging" aka a clear bag and no toggle which I wouldn't use anyways. I bought it from a store with really good reviews so I wasn't concerned about quality. I saved about $40.
So, this morning, I had a break through! I saw a new number range on the scale this morning.
Up until today, I would only discuss my weight by saying "down 15 lbs" or something to that effect, but never my actual weight. I was way too embarrassed. Today I made a post on facebook with my actual weight bc I'm officially proud of myself.
Before I had my kid.... 135 lbs (and that was big for me at the time) When I had my kid...... 150 lbs (gestational diabetes prevented me from eating a ton of food) When I started my job.. 162 lbs
and then, it happened. While training for my first full marathon, I had a lot of problems and was diagnosed with "migraine equivalent" where basically I get vertigo really bad and it's super scary. My neurologist put me on depakote to help. I was on it a full year and the first month alone I put on 20 lbs. I felt like a complete zombie with no energy.
My highest weight on my pills ..... 197 lbs Bonnaroo last year ................ 185 lbs
And in November this year, I REALLY made some lifestyle changes for the better. I've gone through a death, a break up, and some other bullshit and have yet to fall off track. I'm pretty proud of myself.
Today, I stepped on the scale and was 169lbs which I haven't seen in 3 years. I've lost so many inches since November that it's ridiculous. Completely ridiculous. I have small dimples on my face that you couldn't see bc my face was literally so fat. This week I noticed them for the first time and had completely forgotten I had them. I'm serioulsy in shock that I stayed in this condition for so long.
I am training for my 2nd warrior dash that's in May. I still have some time before Bonnaroo as well. I'd really LOVE to be even smaller than I am now for both of those things. I've never been a big girl, just since I had my kid and I was soooooo tired of it.
Anyway, I'm super happy, inspired, and proud.
Edit: forgot to mention I did this through working out and weights (and t25) and not through just watching what I'm eating. I'm just feeling myself today, yall!

Awesome job!! I haven't seen the scale move much in the past few months but I can tell a difference in my body. I'm starting to see abs for the first time in my life. Thanks, Shaun! It's great motivation to hear successes like yours which warrior dash are you running? I Have a season pass so I plan on running a few.

I'm doing the Amity, Arkansas one since it's the closest one to me. I didnt do it last year bc I was on a cruise haha but this year it's on! And excuse, did you say you're doing "a few??"

Aaaaand I just double checked on the dates. I've already paid for both, but warrior dash is the same weekend as Beale street. Now I have no clue what I'm going to do.

my wife got a boomerang through work and she seems to like it. i have no experience with the fitbit, so I can't compare or anything, but she likes her boomerang.

Hahaha yes, a few! Though I don't train or run. My first warrior dash I was close to 220, I hope be down to 130 by this next one so I should be a little quicker though I still won't do any actual "training" this will be the first year I'll be working out. I have a group of former coworkers twice my age who run with me. We've done Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan. We aim for a new state every year. I've never done Illinois because it's the same weekend as Roo.
Maybe you can transfer your race for warrior dash? Or go to beale st late of it's an early race?

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear. The Fitbit is actually a little bitty thing that slides into a rubber wrist band.
The band can break and be replaced without me having to buy a new Fitbit (or another brand monitor). I was seeing if someone had any experience with buying replacement bands.

ahh, bonzai, that makes more sense. i'd be mad if I had to buy a whole new fit bit because the rubber band broke. replacement bands makes way more sense.

Or I can get two generic brand bands for $4 and 4.5 stars.
For those prices, I'd say try the generics. I only wore that Fitbit for like three months, and I don't think I was particularly hard on it, so I don't think the quality of their bands is super high. Seems worth it to try out the generic instead, especially since it has a higher rating.

hey guys, fitbit friend me, I clearly need more motivation. Don't think I'm going to lose any weight (10 days with the flu and I didn't lose an ounce) but need to build up some stamina.

Okay guys I went and got a fitbit yesterday, and my morning walk just happens to be at around 10,000 steps. Its freaky, I was walking from the stairwell to my apartment door this morning when I vibrated 10,000. I didn't think I could be any more naturally obsessive compulsive until this little guy confirmed it.
Im down 3.5 lbs this week, I want to weigh 215 by bonnaroo and am well on my way! I'll give my weekly update every Sunday, this thread is an awesome point of support and accountability

You can do it! I am also at a goal to be at 215 by the time Roo comes around! My starting weight on this diet was 285 and I am now currently 245. Keep it up and let's be skinny together.
When is Roo going to announce info on the Roo Run! I wannna do it.

Congratulations what an awesome accomplishment!! I have fluctuated as low as 205 and as high as 265, I've had such a hard time getting a grasp on my eating but I've learned over the years that its a marathon not a Sprint. I'm currently at 236 and motivated to keep the decline steady. Lets do it, 215 by roo is my motivation to get going and eat right. Last year I signed up for roo run but slept right through it, this year I'll do my best to participate. Best of luck to you on your journey, your progress is awesome!

Can I join this 215-4-Roo club? That's a healthy goal for me (I'm 235 atm)
Just bought home a elliptical machine home, loved it at the gym. I have skin splits, bad knee and similar ankle. Anyone ever start a cardio routine with an elliptical before?
