I've been doing really well with my diet and exercise the past two weeks, really proud of myself! I don't have a scale so I don't know how much I've lost, but I can tell I've lost a few pounds.
Last night I said if I could run a 5k I was going to buy myself a flying squirrel costume to run the Roo 5k in. I did run it the first year but I may have had some "energy enhancers" that pushed me through. I've never been able to run, I've signed up for multiple warrior dashes and even a spartan super and couldn't even run to the first obstacle. This morning I ran 2 miles in about 20 minutes. For never running in my life I feel like thats not half bad. I think I'm just looking for an excuse to buy this.....
I've decided I'd give myself one more week to see if I can get an extra mile in there.

Be careful. When i did my first 5k, I went home and signed up for my first half marathon (13.1 miles, bitches!!!) and I did it. And multiple more. And too many 5k's to count. It gets addictive. And there are SO many cool running gadgets. I don't run anymore bc of migraines but yeah. You can do it!!! YOU CAN!!!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
it's designed to take a total couch potato/does nothing to running in a 5k in ~9weeks. If you already have a bit of a fitness base, it would obviously take much shorter time.
also, tomorrow is national ride your bike to work day! so get your ride tuned up tonight so you can save some gas and burn some ass tomorrow.

i used couch to 5k when i was trying to do a color run. running was awful to my body, but this program did work. i crossed the finish line, jumped into my friend's arms and never ran again! it was a magical day.
^I just happened to run across this while looking for a 28 for the countdown thread. Thought it was "fit"ting.
Hahaha. My sister ordered a pair of pants from Amazon and they were too small for her so she gave them to me. They were a little snug but nothing uncomfortable. We went on a bike ride with her 2 year old and I was climbing the rock wall to go down a slide and my pants tore in the ass. They were the kind of workout pants with built in underwear so it was extra fun that they ripped. I then rode my bike with a jacket tied around my waste 10 miles back to her house. too fat for the park
Finally purchased a scale. Stepped on it last night and I've lost 7 lbs in a month!! I can't tell you guys how excited I am. I worked so hard previously, for six months, and lost a grand total of 12 lbs. It was so discouraging that I quit trying. But now I'm incredibly encouraged and motivated to keep up with the diet and exercise routine!
As reluctant as I was to take medication, I can finally see my body changing the way it's supposed to. I'm just disappointed it took my doctors this long to figure out there was a medical reason I wasn't losing weight like a normal person.
I just like junk food and beer so much! ugh. beer is my down fall. I've kept the 10lbs off since the dietbet but haven't moved since. I'm hoping for a couple more before roo. I have a total of 30-50 to lose. I'm setting goals in 10 lb increments and that seems to make it a little less daunting. Keep up the good fight guys

Great job keeping it off. Sometimes maintaining is tougher than losing. This weekend I went crazy and ate pizza, Oreos, and probably 1lb of chips and salsa. I also drank probably 30 beers, it was great but I gained 9lbs. I managed to knock off 7 so far and I'm doing a 3 day meal thing now. Hoping to be down a few more before Roo as well.

The beachbody programs are legit as long as you do food intake correctly. I have did a full p90x run and I am half way thru a p90x3 since january and I am currently down almost 50 pounds (5'10' male started at 235). I have been doing my own nutrition not the p90x ones since I wanted a extreme cut first and then I am going to bulk after this x3 lean program is wrapped. Going to switch to body beast and bulking diet for last 5 months of the year and try and add back on 10-15 pounds of lean muscle. I recommend these programs for anyone who is serious about a change. Its not fun and it's not easy but it works if you do. I am not a coach or anything but I am definitely a happy customer.
Im pissed about something else, but now i want to rant. So ive gotten to a weight that i have tried for 3 years to get to, and am super proud of the work ive done, but what pisses me off is when people say, 'you look to skinny', or 'you need to gain a few pounds', or my personal not favorite, using term 'anorexic' in different ways to comment on my weight loss. I am DONE listening to all of that! I may be at my thinnest since my teens, BUT im still technically considered overweight. And what sucks is that it gets to me in a way that makes me second guess what im doing. Thinking, maybe i have lost to much weight, maybe i should skip the gym and go home and eat bad things and itll be ok because this person and this person think im to skinny. This is why i was never able to reach this point before cause it all gets to me and i give up. Not this time.
Still pissed about the other thing and i cant believe i just typed all those words. Rant over. Thank you.

Keep that shit going. You can do it buddy. There's a saying in spanish too, if you keep walking down a street and you hear all the dogs barking, it's because you're making progress.

I've lost about 15 pounds since January doing Insanity Max 30 and p90x3. It isn't where I want to be exactly because I love bad food and beer, but its a hell of a lot better than it was. Bring it on Bonnaroo! And I really love both those pictures above. The struggle is worth how much I feel better about myself.
This year's heat was so brutal, I found it hard to even eat. Most nights I would stop by and get a ben and jerry's lemonade just to cool down, and that would be my dinner. I came back with my clothes barely fitting. I'm going to start back heavy on my fitness this weekend. Just curious if anyone else noticed weight loss at roo this year??
I gained a bit. The heat doesn't stop me from eating Plus I don't think I touched a vegetable all weekend.
It wasn't the heat that stopped me from eating as much, so much as the water consumption. This was the first year that I used a camelback and man did that turn out to be a great decision.

Well, I freeze water bottles to use as ice and before I would just take 3 or 4 of them in with me and then fill them up at the station once I got through that. I still stayed fairly well hydrated in past years, but definitely not like using the easy access of camelback was able to do.
