Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I want kelly to climb up on me in just a skirt while im sleeping and little by little go up my body a little more til her camel toe is right in my face then slap me and say "good morning"
That is not sexual innuendo. Innuendo hints. What's above screams and fits every definition of obscene that I know.
Has the board rule about obscenity been suspended? If so, I'll be sure not to log on right after I've eaten in the morning.
Are we certain there's no way to block an entire thread?
Sass makes a great point here. The mingle thread is starting to skirt the line of obsenity and to be perfectly honest with you good folks, I personally am about to delete the entire thread regardless of what my counterparts think.
This board does not exist for a bunch of horny hippies to get thier rocks off. This board is about bonnaroo.
That mingle thread is on borrowed time right now. Take that for what you will!

wouldn't it be more effective to just tell us when you think we're pushing the envelope? i mean, it's hard to fix something you don't know is broken. just tell us when we're pushing it and we'll back off.

i'm not trying to be rude man. i'm just saying it would probably be more effective to just tell us when you think we're pushing it, and then we know the boundaries. i get obscenity...but where is the line for it?
do i think creep's post was a little much? yes. but generally we're pretty tame IMO. if you don't agree, tell us. we're reasonable people, i promise
Werd, I got ya HIA. I wasnt trying to come off like that and I apologize. There are actions in the works right now to tame that thread. I just hope when it comes down that everyone understands.

oh snap.
for the record, i fully encourage and endorse any hot single monkey sex as a result of (or aided by) this board, and i certainly dont want the mods on this board to change into a bunch modolph hitlers. i was just seeing if there were a way (that i wasnt aware of) for me to be able ignore it or eliminate it from the recent posts search.
if i could do that, it certainly wouldnt be just the mingle thread. id add in the This or that, song title, TPBM, mafia, and kanye threads, and threads about eskimos, etc.. doesnt mean i think people should stop those threads.
I have not really read much of that thread but I have to say.... This is without a doubt the most up tight website that is supposed to be full of "free spirits" I have ever seen. Really!
I understand that many people are at work and what not. But the thing is there are billions of things on the internet that they avoid because they know it isnt the kind of thing they want on their work comp. So why do they HAVE to visit the Mingle thread? Quick answer, they dont. I know yall are talking about the updated link but it is not the only way to navigate the site. I havent even used it. So if you dont open up somethings at work why do you insist on opening up other things that you already know are not to your liking?
In my short time on this site I have tried to have casual discussions and some good spirited debate. In that time I have seen so many petty arguments and bickering on so many threads. I have been verbally attacked by users for nothing. I have been "officially warned" for typing the word retarded(not at anyone). I have had a heated PM exchange with a mod that started with me for no reason at all except he didn't agree with what I said.
Is this what Bonnaroo is evolving into? Or is it just what this board has evolved into? Because I have to say it leaves a horrible taste in my mouth. I have been to many Bonnaroos and tons of other festivals and I have to say that this is the first time I have had any negative feelings about a festival and in truth its not even because of the festival. Its because of a handful of things experienced on this site.
I know that sounds harsh and in truth there are a bunch of really cool people on here but the childish arguments are just annoying as hell.

again..i use the recent posts function to navigate here.I just want to see if i could enhance that function(thats what this subforum is for). doing so would not in any way impact any thread i chose to ignore. im not sure how thats uptight or annoying to anyone.
and LOL at extrapolating this argument into "is this what bonnaroo is turning into?".
I have no problem with adjusting that function. I am talking about the fact that the thread is deemed "obscene". That and the arguments that have flowed from the thought of it. Read my post, I pretty much explain in detail what I was referring to.

i hear you.
but this is one of the more entertaining threads on here in weeks, imo.
Well, I suppose we're going to have to disagree about what constitutes obscenity and entertainment. One thing is certain though, and that is that there does exist a rule about the former and that interpretation of it will have to be left to the mods.
I'm no prude, I'd just rather not see those kinds of posts on this board. If I want that kind of "entertainment", I seek it elsewhere. And please don't suggest I not use the Top 50 search function, because it exists to make my experience here a little easier.
Inforoo is about music and friendship and I guess whatever else we want to make it about, within reason. I have no problem with the Mingle if You're Single thread, but it's evolved in to what essentially is a private conversation for only handful of people, some of whom have taken it a bit far at times. It seems that if that very small minority was mindful of the fact that there are hundreds of others who use this board for very different reasons, this could be settled reasonably.

No one is forcing you to log on and participate here GF. I am sure if you look, you can find a site that better fits your needs.
Well someone could just edit the link on the thread so they are redirected to chat. Which is probably the most appropriate place for all that stuff anyway.
Is that hamster wheel directed at my last post? I've got two posts in this thread, whereas more than 30% of the first 40-something posts were made by you. I'm not trying to perpetuate an endless argument, merely stating my opinion in a respectful manner.
It's humorous to me that people clamor about their rights to post whatever, whenever when they don't seem to want to extend that courtesy to anyone else.

^^^I'm pretty sure it's not just the term, but more the whole image/description of someone pressing their exposed sex organ into someone elses sleeping face and then slapping them awake that would be the graphic obscene thing? Just my take
I would assume that the Mingle If You're Single thread would have different "community standards" than Inforoo as a whole... (Ditto for the Sex @ Bonnaroo thread, btw)
It's not like people are going to that thread to discuss the church bake sale - and I think we Inforoosters have enough sense to realize that.

it was directed at the argument as a whole. you just happened to be the last person to post before i did.

yeah - thanks for the reminder about that whole graphic description
Around Inforoo, I know obscenity when I see it. It is replaced by the following words: nuts piss quack Ann Coulter peener puffer motherquacker, man bewbs
^ Inforoo's replacements for Carlin's seven words.
We also have filters for things like: NO NO WORD!!! I HAVE NO DADDY! Ann Coulter Summers breeze hey nanny nanny
I didn't see any filtration of "camel toe" in either the original post, an earlier re-quoting of Creep's post in this thread, or when I use it in quote marks to discuss the situation.
I'm going to admit, I found that post kinda funny. I asked Kelaroo, and she said she's not personally offended.
I don't know how many users have been banned from here while I've been around, but I can't think of any that have happened until now. I don't know the situation between Creep & mods; he could've been warned prior to that post and that might change the situation slightly.
However, NBF, I know you work in law. I know you know what ex post facto means. Creep didn't say anything in what I saw quoted that even violated the Inforoo filters. Isn't that the working definition of obscenity here?
Werd, I got ya HIA. I wasnt trying to come off like that and I apologize. There are actions in the works right now to tame that thread. I just hope when it comes down that everyone understands.
Peace!
btw...does this mean creep can come back when these actions go into effect? he did erase the post everyone is so upset about.
^^^but Kdogg - Creep has been suspended before and I think he was warned about soemting before that. I think he was suspended for posting some sort of lewd or crude picture in the same thread that this whole discussion stems from.
Me - personally - I just avoid it but I do see the point when you pull up the 50 recent posts in the morning and it is ALL nothing but that thread and then you have to put up with graphic descriptions.
I thought it was a crude comment and I am not sure why anyone would want that anyway - but to each his own and I'm glad kelaroo wasn't offended (I must be more prudeish then I thought because I would have been)
