If this is the most up tight website you have EVER seen, I just can't understand why you are here.
I can promise this, and many long time regulars can confirm, whining and b!tching DOES NOT help your cause. Insulting members or the mods DOES NOT help your cause. You will get nothing changed like that.
I am not trying to be an ass here, I am simply stating it like it is so you won't be surprised or get your expectations up.

Just so everyone knows - I'm working on a thingy where you can set threads that you don't ever want to see. They won't show up anywhere whether it be 50 most recent posts or otherwise.
It is far from done. Don't count on it anytime soon.
HOWEVER, even when/if this option becomes available people still need to keep to a certain standard.
When you are about to post something, just re-read your post.. count to 10, and think about your post and who it might offend.
Wooz, I just wanted to let you know that your hard effort to please both sides of the party while still maintaining order and enforcing the rules is GREATLY appreciated. Wooz FTW!
And as a side note, I talked to Creepy and he specifically said he deleted the post himself when he saw it had offended some folks. I'm not taking sides here because I post occasionally in the mingle thread but i do think that some things said in there should be private conversations, definitely not for the whole board to read. Whether some folks deem it acceptable or not, we all know 'round about where the line is crossed/even danced upon. You can play like you don't and that it's left up to personal interpretation but if you want to play that way then you can expect the mods to let you know what the fuck is up.
And as for the 50 recent posts... I fucking hate seeing 23 Mafia posts and 23 Mingles posts and 4 other posts... If i want to read an entire thread, i go to that thread... but at the same time, if i see a bunch of posts from the same thread, I just overlook them and then go to that thread after I've caught up on everything else. BUT it does defeat the purpose of having the recent posts function.
Sorry, not trying to bring it all back up, I'd really rather it not get brought back up.... I was just stating my thoughts

the issue here seems to be this function more than anything. so, regardless if things get "cleaned up", or creep is here or not, it's not going to keep the singles thread or the mafia thread for taking up the recent posts.
this is a PUBLIC MESSAGE BOARD. i can't help it if only 3 people are wanting to be in the singles thread. and i shouldn't have to be forced to go somewhere else. when i do post here during the day i'm at work. which means i'm going between actually being productive, and posting in a few threads here and there. i don't have time to go to some separate room just because some people are annoyed that they can't use a certain UNNECESSARY function to their complete satisfaction.
and what about mafia? the mods themselves just created an ENTIRE BOARD specifically for games. not to mention we're now on what? the 16th game of mafia? why is this ALL OF A SUDDEN a problem?
you want us to tone it down, fine...i don't give a crap about that. but stop telling us we don't HAVE to talk about all of that publicly when you don't HAVE to read it, or you don't HAVE to use that function. none of us HAVE to do anything here. no one pays to be here. no one has anymore right to be here.

Hippie-- Just for clarification, not saying your posted was directed at me, but I feel the recent posts option makes my Inforoo experience much more enjoyable and makes it easier to see what's been going on around here. If you look at it that way, nothing on these boards is necessary.... And as for Mafia... well it's not all of a sudden a problem, it's just another VERY active thread. But man I hate all the bickering that goes on in there, though I understand why it happens and all that. I've just always used the recent posts option and since the Mingle and Mafia threads are almost always fast-paced and active it'd just be nice to be able to opt out of seeing them when I'm hopping on for a quick over view of the day. I'm not out for you guys, I don't think you should have to go else where (although the chat idea is great for when all you singles are mingling like there's no tomorrow and is probably more efficient, for you and for the rest of the board), and I definitely don't think anyone should not come to the boards because of a disagreement. But all this you don't HAVE to do this and we don't HAVE to do that is just downright silly. Like you said, no one has to do anything here (except follow the guidelines), no has has to come here. Fact is, everyone is here because they want to be and it shouldn't be up to just the mods to make sure folks have an enjoyable experience... we should all have that in mind.
And Druid, I don't know how you knew I was only paying $4.50... honestly I'm scared you know too much now. But in my defense, I've also been sending cookies and sweet tea....
I think of the board like I do Bonnaroo. Private land that I have been invited upon, however accepting that invitation means that there are rules I have to abide by. If I don't I can be ejected.

Well, no one is personally attacking you guys about the recent posts deal, and woozy said he was working on it... I think that's all we can hope for, a solution. Bitching/discussing things to make the boards more enjoyable, i think, are two totally different things.
