99% sure the WS won't happen. if it were any of jack white's bands, i'd be voting raconteurs. meg just isn't that great of a drummer, and all i can think when i listen to them is "she's just holding him back".
but, i'd be kinda stoked if Jay-Z was taking the spot...

back in '07 the clan tried to do acl but as soon as we hit the state line we were targeted by the 5-0! we got pulled over 5 TIMES before we even hit austin and each time we were harassed insulted and threatened by them good ol boys! they never found anything cause we are'nt stupid and know how rednecks think of dreads and tats and piercings and the like but still held us "detained" for over half hour each time! they was obviously trying to insult and degraed us into provoking some backwoods texas asskickin or somethin! 1 bubba fuckface even spat in liz's lap after tellin her that it was ilegal to have a different color hair than in your license picture! WTF!!!!! finaly in san marcos they decided to "test" the ashes in her ashtray and said it came up posative for illict substances which is bs cause we made a point to clean out ashtray before we even left home! they arrested her and imponded her van! they held her overnight while we teh rest of spent the night at the scariest norman bates type hotel in all of assbackwards texas.......then they just released her without charge!!! but they still made us pay the inpound fee and a fine for "disorderly conduct"!!!! they even told her that they would be looking for our van on for the next few days cause they new we were "criminals"! needless to say we got the fuck out of that pissbucket excuse for a state immediately! who knows what was gonna happen next time they stopped us! FUCKTEXAS!

Hey, does anybody know about a campground called the Lone Star Carefree RV resort? I can park my vehicle there. It is 7000 south I-35 in Austin. Supposedly a few miles from the park. Can one catch a bus to and from there?

there are shuttles that run from downtown around 14th street where you can park your car. dunno about local bus routes...i wouldn't put too much faith in them, especially with the kind of traffic around south austin during an event like this.
the place you've mentioned is fairly close...just a little south, but you'd probably be better off just getting a taxi(it would probably run you around 12-15 total), or drive a car to the parking garage and take the shuttle.

Hippie, Thanks, I see that there is a bus on Congress heading into town, not sure how late they'll run at night and Sunday, but Taxi is always an option.

Boooooooo. To be honest, I prob would have been at KoL anyway, since I got to see all of beastie's set at bonnaroo. But it would have been nice to see something different. I saw KoL at austin music hall last november and their show was good, but short. I guess that article really says it all, 3days are already sold out so why should they waste money on a 'big name headliner'.

the person in me that's optimistic would hope that a festival with more than enough money to get a suitable replacement would honor the fact that their festival sold out partly because of the name that had to be dropped.
Don't give up hope yet over at the ACL board they pointed out the mashup article got its info from another internet site that said YYY was rumored as the replacement. Nothing has been confirmed yet.
