back in '07 the clan tried to do acl but as soon as we hit the state line we were targeted by the 5-0! we got pulled over 5 TIMES before we even hit austin and each time we were harassed insulted and threatened by them good ol boys! they never found anything cause we are'nt stupid and know how rednecks think of dreads and tats and piercings and the like but still held us "detained" for over half hour each time! they was obviously trying to insult and degraed us into provoking some backwoods texas asskickin or somethin! 1 bubba fuckface even spat in liz's lap after tellin her that it was ilegal to have a different color hair than in your license picture! WTF!!!!! finaly in san marcos they decided to "test" the ashes in her ashtray and said it came up posative for illict substances which is bs cause we made a point to clean out ashtray before we even left home! they arrested her and imponded her van! they held her overnight while we teh rest of spent the night at the scariest norman bates type hotel in all of assbackwards texas.......then they just released her without charge!!! but they still made us pay the inpound fee and a fine for "disorderly conduct"!!!! they even told her that they would be looking for our van on for the next few days cause they new we were "criminals"! needless to say we got the quack out of that pissbucket excuse for a state immediately! who knows what was gonna happen next time they stopped us! FUCKTEXAS!
Someone has waaaaay too much time on their hands.

i just dont understand all the hate on this board! this thread s bout ACL...so i told my one and only ACL story! sorry if it rubbed any of you folks the wrong way but i think its important info for anone who might be thinkin of goin there in the future! and who could ever beleive that texas redneck cops would ever target and harass "freaky" lookin concert goers on there way to a major music festival! i mean thats just crazy! RIGHT?

I'm disappointed by the YYY announcement, too, although it hasn't been confirmed. Ah well...I burn the candle at both ends every year at ACL. Maybe this'll be the year I head out early and...rest up for the next day!
I dunno what makes less sense... Replacing the Beastie Boys with the YYY, or Salamander's attempts at the english language.

I was just crackin' a joke. You seemed to be kind of sensitive to any backlash you were getting, so I was just making light of a situation. I'm glad you can appreciate my unsurpassed wit and cleverness though. Not many people can acknowledge such a great thing when they see it.

I can't believe they got Yeah Yeah Yeahs to replace Beasties is that the best the booking company could do. I know its the same company that does Lollapalooza but this makes Kings of Leon as the show to see that night.
I'm sure if they wanted to book a bigger act they could have but what would have been their motivation to? The fest is already sold out. Also, the YYY's set at lolla was the best of the weekend.

it sucks, i bought 3 VIP passes... but the ship i'm on now won't reach the US until the 2nd week of October (i was suppose to be getting off this weekend in Durban, Africa, but bad things happen when you shell out a lot of money for something)
it's ok, my buddy from home (MS) is taking my ticket and bringing the other 2 to my two buddies who now live in austin...
i'll try to make it back to austin for SXSW though, i love that town
