really looking forward to this lineup announcement. went back in 07 and it was incredible!!! am definately going to see if finances will allow for this fest considering i just booked for jam cruise
if my bro and i decide to go we may decide on doing a hostel. on our way to jam cruise in january, we stayed at this relatively nice one (forget the street name) on new years eve and a few days afterward. they are cheap, and a great way to meet new people. however, the marriot deal sounds pretty sweet, too.
Has anyone done VIP for this? Just trying to see if its worth it
I've heard it's not. Having been the last two years I don't see the value in VIP. It's a day fest, everything is close and the crowds are minute compared to Bonnaroo. With hotels and eating out it's expensive enough at it is. I personally wouldn't recommend VIP for Voodoo, but that's just me.
This is hands down my favorite day fest. NOLA is just awesome.
Edit to add: I have done roo VIP 2x and it is worth it if you can afford it. Back to GA this year. (just glad to be going!!)

Cool thanks for the heads up I guess the extra money I can use for a better hotel and what not. Yea Ive done VIP at Roo twice as well and its back to GA for me this year too. But like you said, just glad to be going!!
Hey now... I'm not a Kiss fan much in general, but I saw them once on the 4th of July @ Starlake ...and based on that, if you are gonna see them, Halloween at VooDoo is PERFECT
^^^i agree. i saw them on their farewell tour in 2000, and it was just a great performance. not really a fan of the music, but i dont dislike it as well, just an awesome show. voodoo is the place on halloween night to check them out.
also, i just called and all the voodoo rates at the marriot are taken.
Blah - Voodoo is out for me (again) this year - ballet is a priority and especially this year since she got promoted to the next class and wll be starting on pointe this year

With two nieces who excel and win awards constantly in dance? ;D I understand completely

Some year you will be there, and i will too
Maybe when she is old enough to drive herself to rehearsals, huh?

well that's just peachy! I guess we'll have to find another place to crash; there are quite a few nice hotels in the area but some are pretty $$$ especially since the rates go up for Voodoo. I guess I better get on the ball with that.
Not to get into a KISS debate, but considering that they hit it big when I was in high school I harbor a special hate for them. I was kind of more a Pink Floyd girl at that point..... And honestly, their music is 100% shit.
But I can see that it might be fun on Halloween. If I was deaf and blind. Gene Simmons gives me the creeps. He a super creep, super creep, he's super creepy (in my best Rick James voice).
Sadly, I can't go this year and will miss the sight of his nasty tongue.
And all the awesomeness that is Voodoo and NOLA. Everyone have a drink for me at the Absinthe!
its official, my brother and i will be attending! for those that havent been, look for hotels that offer on-site parking. even when you stay in a hotel, you still have to pay for parking/day. dont get in a hotel that doenst offer parking, which is what we did in 07. then you have to leave your car in a lot, and the lots do not offer day parking. the most you can get is like eight hours at a time, which really sux during the fest, and once back in the hotel/quarter/etc.
I've always flown in. No need for a car, really, unless that's the only way you can get there. I think the Marriott charges like $28 per day. I love taking the streetcar to City Park. They way back is even more fun!
Just remember to hide your corn. I lost some at the gates on Sunday last year.
I'm sure I'll be very sad on Halloween, not being there. We are doing Jazz Fest 2010, though!
