Everybody over there is freaking out about the 75k in attendance. Anyone here been before and can share experiences with crowds? Is 75k going to be an issue? Seems like they would have to plan accordingly for a 25% increase from prior years attendance numbers...
It has never been more than 60,000 on a day, so it is a little worrying to the regulars. However, supposedly more land will be used this year, so that should help. The tents should be interesting, though. I really hope they expanded them.
You don't plan on being able to see Karin or experience Fever Ray at all?
Check what you quoted, man. I will be there for every minute of it!
I didn't read it wrong. I guess you don't realize that you won't be able to get to actually see Karin or experience this set well at all if you arrive right when it starts. Do you know how small the Mojave is? 75,000 people and a whole lot of them want to see Fever Ray in that relatively small tent. Grizzly Bear in the Mojave is just hilarious. Maybe three years ago.

One thing that sucks about Coachella is that the tents have sides with a couple openings, It can get impossible to get anywhere near the stage if your not there early.

I do. I have been 3 years, so I am familiar with the previous layouts. I think I should be ok catching 15 minutes of Jay Z and still be able to find a relatively decent spot for my tastes. The fact that Jay Z and Deadmou-five are playing at the same time will drain some of the crowd. The Coachella board tends to produce a little overhype when it comes to some artists, so we are led to believe half of the festival will be there to see her set. Plus I am banking on the fact that the tents will be larger this year to accommodate the larger crowd. I don't need to be at the front, so I am ok with arriving close to the beginning of her set.

This is just a guess on my part but with the cost of the tents (10's of thousands I am thinking) I bet they use the same tents this year and use the experience of this year changes for future years. You are so right on the hype though. Two years ago XXXXX was a must see, someone you can't miss, and then two years later it is "Huh, why would I want to see them". silly kids ...cr****
Ok, maybe I will just catch the Jay Z intro and then leave directly after for Fever Ray. I will catch the rest of his set after Fever Ray finishes. Thanks for bringing up some good points, cornquaker.
Oh, and whomever was hyping Steve Porter earlier, you are wise. This guy is so awesome!
Have a great time dude. We will for sure hookup at some fest some time and I will introduce you to my little garden That sounded weird but you know what I mean ... cr****
