Wish I was leaving tonight. Flying out of Nashville at 6:00pm tomorrow. Gonna be a long night and day. I've had Coachella dreams the past 2 nights in a row
Considering the crop of people that hang around this board, I say the more negative points you have here the better.
Yikes !!!! No the bunch here "tends" to be more mature and is the Coachella bunch just 10 years later. That also means a lot nicer and open for ideas ... imo ...cr****

seriously? nobody posted this news yet? about clash members reuniting for Coachella's gorillaz show? i'm not the biggest clash fan but it's huge news for Coachella.
For those of you who missed out on tickets to this weekend's sold-out Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival: get really to feel really bad.
According to the Daily Swarm, Mick Jones and Paul Simonon, guitarist and bassist for The Clash, are going to be taking the stage with Gorillaz this Sunday (April 18) at the Indio, Calif. fest.
For those of you keeping score at home, that would mark the first time the pair had performed together on stage since 1983, when Jones was dismissed from the legendary punk band.
Both had contributed to the Damon Albarn-fronted band's latest album, "Plastic Beach," as featured contributors to the title track of that set.
Word is out, too, that Jones and Simonon will aid with KROQ's "secret" "rehearsal" Gorillaz show at their onsite HQ.
The last time Simonon and Jones recorded together was 1982's "Combat Rock." The Clash with Simonon continued on until the mid-'80s until finally disintegrated.
Coachella is famous for its surprise onstage collaborations and surprise guests. A rumored reunion for this year's, for instance, is Dr. Dre hitting the stage with Jay-Z during his Friday night headlines slot.
Nice! Despite the multitude of typos in there, that sounds promising.
Dre would be sweet as well, although I've been planning to skip Jay at Coachella so I can still be pumped for his set at Roo....I guess we'll see what happens

Yet you still post way more on that board than this one ...
A volcano erupted in Iceland causing a large cloud of ash to prevent flights from London to CA. So far it looks like Bad Lieutenant, Frightened Rabbit, Mary Anne Hobbs, The Cribs and Delphic are all in trouble. This could be really bad as flights aren't expected to start until tomorrow at the earliest. Supposedly he's already here but imagine the riots if Damon couldn't make it. Wow.

I hope for everyone that's going's sake that it doesn't, but this could turn out to be a big clusterquack. It sounds like they already sold way too many tickets and now with this happening there will be less going on to spread people out. The board moderator was warning everyone in chat last night that it will be very crowded, like really quacking packed. Last year the Paul McCartney day was sold out at around 60,000 and that felt too crowded. I'm staying optimistic but I'm really curious how they're going to handle these 75,000 people.

Wait..... WHAT?!
Oh man..... I wonder if it's too late to book a plane ticket out to California for tomorrow. Damn. Seeing those two on stage together again, even if just for a couple songs, would be worth the price of admission alone.
^^probably. And even if they're not, I have two gigantic obstacles in my way: I have no money or way of getting out to California, and my college is still in session for another month.
2/5- Papadosio 3/3- MUSE 3/12- John Mayer 3/19- The Werks 3/31- Passion Pit 4/18- Ben Folds 4/20- Against Me! 6/10- Bonnaroo 6/30- Eric Clapton and Roger Daltrey
Jack and Monkey, did you guys not read anything I posted? Of course it's sold out. It's way oversold and should have been sold out a long time ago.
i know passes were sold out. in my posting of the news about the clash it even mentions it. I was sorta responding to Jack because he made it seem like he could just fly out there and go to the festival. I was more confused about how he planned on how to get in.
A Thieve's Parade 2/24 Conspirator 2/26 Kevin Smith 3/11 Keller 3/17 Papadosio 3/18 JJ Grey 3/25 Bela Fleck/Edgar Meyer 3/26 Toubab Krewe 3/27 O'Death 4/11 Budos Band 4/22 EOTO 4/28 Summer Camp 5/6-29 All Good

yes, I know. I wasn't saying that I was going to do that; I was moreso saying that I really wish I could do that. It's two weeks before the end of the semester, and I'm a broke college student; I have neither the time nor the money to spontaneously plan a trip to the other side of the country, rent a car, and get into a festival. The fact that it's sold out is just one of many obstacles standing between me and Coachella. But, a guy is allowed to dream.

While it would be really cool to see Mick and Paul, I wouldn't get too worked up over it. It's not like they're going to be playing any songs from The Clash.

Yes! You know it just makes too much sense. There's a 100% chance of Soundgarden playing Coachella this weekend. Goldenvoice has no interest in making any profits. They actually prefer losing lots of money instead of making any money. That's just how they roll.

Supposedly the map is any different and they didn't expand the stages, they just made the whole venue bigger by opening up some areas behind the tents where you can't even see the music, bigger beer gardens, etc. Also, I thought last year had 60,000 but they only had 53,000. I'm very, very curious to see how they handle this.

Oh dear. The complaints have already started rolling in.
Quotes from the Coachella Message Board (people currently at the fest posting from their phones):
"Crazy line. About 30 mins in. - moved 100 yds. Is there only one line? WTF? How come it is SO much worse than last year?"
"In previous years, getting a shower involved waiting in line for an 45-75 minutes behind dozens of people. This year? Seven trailers for more campers than ever, with hundreds in line at each. Time to shower in the sink Glasto style."
"Agreed. Shower situation totally blows. Total fail for not having them spread out."
"B R U T A L"
"Heads up #Coachella goers: Indio Police out on the prowl. They are keepin it in check."
"Dear Goldenvoice, quack you for having 3, let me repeat that THREE guards checking bags for a 75k people festival. quacking absurd, retarded and unforgiveable. Ive been in line for an hour and a half now."
