Well fuck me. Going to lose my voice again this year from yelling along so much
Can double confirm The Flaming Lips. Extremely excited for that one. Favorite show ever was the Lips late night '07 at Bonnaroo. The fact that they're headlining makes me think they'll be having the headliners at the Amphitheatre, which would make sense. Their stage show is too elaborate for a small stage on the plaza.
Lineup comes out midnight on Tuesday/Wednesday. Can't wait. Definitely doing V.I.P. again this year.

Bishop, the guy who books this fest has an awesome enough taste in music that there are gonna be some great semi-rare surprises every year (i.e. Dungen and Tortoise last year, Swans, Archers of Loaf, and God knows who else this year).
I think Legendary Pink Dots would fit perfectly at this thing.
I'll be interviewing Greg Lowenhagen, one of the chief figures behind the festival, this Wednesday (4/20) at 11:15 am on WKNC. If you live in the Piedmont area of North Carolina, you can listen in at 88.1 FM. You can also listen online from anywhere at wknc.org/listen

Here's the scoop an hour early:
-- No Archers of Loaf Sorry 'bout that, guys. -- No Megafaun. -- Rosebuds will be there, but they aren't on the initial lineup (they'll be announced later) -- Friday night main stage (City Plaza): The Dodos>Drive-By Truckers>Guided By Voices -- Saturday night main stage: The Light Pines>Superchunk>Flaming Lips -- Also: Titus Andronicus, The Weeknd, The Black Lips, Twin Shadow, Cold Cave, Toro y Moi, Swans, Dawn Golden & Rosy Cross, Braids, Julianna Barwick, Yelawolf, The Love Language, Future Islands, Rhys Chatham, The Foreign Exchange, Little Scream, tons more but that's all I know for now
Kinda disappointed with the undercard TBH. But The Flaming Lips make it all better.
Kind of surprised the Light Pines are playing city plaza. I really like them but its definitely a step down name recognition wise from the Love Language and the Rosebuds.

Yeah, I thought that was very strange. Guess they figured they were covered with Flaming Lips and Superchunk.
Also, may have a couch for someone to crash on come September. Won't know til July or August, though (out of the country half the summer, finding a place when I get back)

Even better than I expected. Particularly excited for Earth, Yelawolf, Mouthus, Chatham, Swans, Oneohtrix Point Never, Future Islands, JEFF the Brotherhood, Prurient, Woodsman, Lower Dens, Barn Owl, Xiu Xiu, All Tiny Creatures, among a bunch of others. I'm not sure I could come up with a better lineup if they asked me to personally curate.

Its definitely solid, but does seem to be missing something. I just realized I have a buddy's wedding conflicting that weekend, but its in the state so we'll see what I can work out with that.
