It looks like Times New Viking will be added. According to their booking agent Uknown Mortal Orchestra will be playing the same Hopscotch show as Times New Viking.
Schedule is out. Overall, pretty pleased. The only thing I hate is that Swans, Mount Eerie, Liturgy, and Disappears are all at the same time (Swans win that one). Mine is looking like Thursday Last Year's Men --> Rhys Chatham --> Oneohtrix Point Never --> Woodsman --> Cold Cave Friday The Dodos --> Drive-By Truckers --> Guided By Voices --> Whatever Brains --> The Body --> Swans --> DJ'ing at Neptunes
Saturday Dreamers of the Ghetto --> Superchunk --> The Flaming Lips --> All Tiny Creatures --> Andrew Cedermark or Fight The Big Bull --> Future Islands --> Titus Andronicus --> Budos Band

I knew there were going to be some conflicts, but goddamn. Chatham vs. Mouthus vs. 0PN vs. Xiu Xiu is brutal. So is Earth vs. Barn Owl vs. Japandroids.

Probable schedule....
Thursday Dinosaur Feathers -> bit of Prurient -> Chatham -> bit of Woodsman -> JEFF the Brotherhood -> whatever's left of William Tyler (or maybe Black Lips)
Friday City Plaza shows -> The Body -> Swans -> Earth -> totally deaf
Saturday City Plaza shows -> Heads on Sticks (or maybe Andrew Cedermark) -> Future Islands -> Yelawolf
I decided to skip out on this one for some solo shows that month (most notably my main draw at Hopscotch, Swans at the Orange Peel), and Moog the following month.

Honestly, there's a chance I might do the same. This lineup is still stacked, but it's less enticing since Swans announced an Atlanta date and I won't be able to see a bunch of my favorites due to conflicts anyway. I'm basically going for Rhys Chatham and Earth at this point.

Wow, guys...I had no idea this many people were coming to our little festival in Raleigh!
Being a local, I would be honored to answer any questions and help you find great places to stay and hang out.
Also, I may be willing to let some people crash at my house. I have a guest room, a party shed w/ air conditioning, and some sofas. And beer...lots of North Carolina backyard homebrewed beer!
If nothing else, lets get a meetup scheduled sometime!

I agree, I didn't realize Hopscotch would get this kind of attention but I'm glad it is. I'm in Morrisville (Raleigh's tiny neighbor) and plan on attending. The lineup looks great for a festival that is relatively new. Should be lots of fun. No farm, but plenty of hotels nearby to crash if you're from out of town. If you know somebody with spare room to crash, even better.
I'll stay posted for any potential meetups. I'm a newbie on the Inforoo boards. It'd be cool to meet some fellow 'Roo fans and catch a show. I'm all about the DBT!

The DiggUp Tapes day party on Saturday is awesome. Lonnie Walker, Birds of Avalon, Quiet Hooves, Thank You, and "extra special surprise guests." I like all four of those bands. Future Islands as the secret guest maybe...?
Can some explain the schedule to me. Just The Raleigh City Music Plaza. On the website site it says 5:30-10 pm but not when each band is playing
I assumed they would just be running it like a standard 3 band show. If I was guessing, I would say first band plays 5:30-6:00, second band plays 6:30-7:30, and the headliner plays 8:00-10:00.

First band (Dodos/Light Pines) starts at 5:30, last band (GBV/Flaming Lips) ends at 10. It's the only thing going on during that time, save for some smaller bands in clubs that start at 9.
I think the gates open at 5

Most likely. They're bro bros with the Diggup Tapes guys
Hey all! So I don't know any of you but I'm glad I found this forum! My friend and I are going to hopscotch and we don't have a place to crash at the moment. We're both coming down from Virginia and all the hotels seem booked at the moment or super pricey (and we're broke ass college students). If any of you have a room/couch for us to crash on, it would be greatly appreciated. We're both radio DJs, love ALL these bands and promise we'll keep your place clean. You can even Facebook us if you're unsure about inviting strangers into your home and what not. And surely a trade of alcohol/baked goods can be arranged!
Let me know! This is going to be radddd, with or without a place to crash :]
It's looking like I might not be able to get to Raleigh in time for Chatham, which blows. He was the main reason I pulled the trigger on this. Oh well, there's still a ton of other good stuff going on.
Do not ... I mean DO NOT MISS The Men, folks. If this was Friday instead of Saturday I'd be all over that. In fact, I have not ruled it out to see Disappears.

I would totally see The Men, but they're conflicting with Future Islands, who are probably my favorite active band. I might try to split time if Future Islands turns up at that DiggUp Tapes day party, though...
