Alright. So I pulled the trigger. I can't miss a Disappears show this close to me. I'm only down Friday night if anyone is gonna be at The Pour House that night and wants to meet up.I'm hauling ass back to Richmond to pick up friends and then on to DC for Virgin and back to Richmond for The Men.
Okay it looks like there's no way I can make this happen now. I thought the store would be closed by then but I'm going to have to work that whole weekend. Does anyone want a weekend pass on the low-low?
Since I did my top ten for Moog, thought I would do one for Hopscotch too:
1) Guided By Voices 2) The Flaming Lips 3) Cold cave 4) Twin Shadow 5) The Dodos 6) Toro Y Moi 7) Titus Andronicus 8) Earth 9) Superchunk 10) Lower Dens
1. The Flaming Lips 2. Rhys Chatham 3. Swans 4. Future Islands 5. Guided By Voices 6. Black Lips 7. Dodos 8. Drive-By Truckers 9. Fight The Big Bull 10. The Body

I'm definitely not going to be there in time for Chatham on Thursday. Probably won't show up til almost 11. Did this run close to schedule last year? Or will the club shows be unpredictable?

Club shows, for the most part, ran on schedule. You should still have time to check out some music, however. Some of the later (i.e. last) acts will probably go longer than an hour, as the clubs don't close 'til two

Yeah, I'm hoping to at least catch Mouthus, JEFF, and Black Lips or Ford & Lopatin on Thursday.
Just picked up my wristband! Excitement level now at: pee pants.
You should all stop by the WKNC table in "wristband city" and grab a sticker. That is the station I work for/dj at/am music director of. I might be there. Tall, lanky, and blonde. Say hi.
Also, Future Islands are the "surprise guests" at the DiggUp Tapes party

Knew it. That's far and away the coolest day party.
I'm checking in pretty late tomorrow, but I'll come say hey if you're still around.

I had an awesome time at this, hope I can make it next year. Top 10:
1. Future Islands (loved the new songs, day party was a nice bonus) 2. Earth 3. Yelawolf 4. Swans (left after an hour to go see Earth, though) 5. The Body 6. JEFF the Brotherhood 7. Drive-By Truckers 8. Netherfriends 9. The Flaming Lips 10. SoftSpot
Twin Shadow was my favorite followed by Cold Cave and Julianna Barwick. The Flaming Lips, Lower Dens, Oneohtrix Point Never, Swans, The Dodos, and Titus Andronicus are tied for HM. What an awesome weekend!

I stayed at the Days Inn this year. It was a mile from the furthest venue (Lincoln Theatre), but it was only $65/night. The Sheraton was right next to the main outdoor stage, but I believe it was in the $120 range.

That's some serious advance planning. I'll probably end up at the Days Inn again if I make it back next year, it's just too cheap. It didn't look like it was anywhere close to capacity, either.
