Dude, I usually hate when people do this around here, but...
i went to roth last year and it was awesome. that first night in the forrest was one for the record books.
whats funny clarity is that i tried to log in today but couldnt remember my password. its surly been a lonnng time. that place is indeed a jk. Rothbury however is not. im honestly sad its not a go this year but knowing you NOOB pricy pimple infested loads lost your festival it makes it alright.
So after the board war I started last year I had plans to to Rothbury with the Rothfest crowd this year. I had literally just gotten my carpooling straight Wed night. For all the crap that has gone back and forth (plenty from me) I am sad to see it go. Hopefully whatever has gone down will get straightened out and it will be back. I am always sad to see the loss of a festie.

lol why does anyone care where i, clairity, or any other anonymous inforoo poster goes for the summer? rothbury is/was the best festival i've ever been to. i don't hate bonnaroo, but i'm just over it for now. i live with 100 degree temps most of the year because i live in south texas. baking for 4 days on one of the only vacations i get just isn't something i find pleasant anymore. i will always have fond memories of roo, but now i'm just going to enjoy the smaller fests, better climates, and prettier scenery.
this is seriously the lamest thing to keep bitching about. i should know...i've been good at it in the past.

Awesome. This is exactly what we need inforoo to be. Aren't there plenty of cesspools on the Internet already? I'm not calling you out, bburton, because everybody already knows you're just a lovable troll. But the rest of you -- really? This is what you want this place to be like?
To be honest, most of us didn't and don't care who goes to Bonnaroo and who goes to Rothbury and who goes to Wakarusa and who goes to Langerado. What got old was when threads were started promoting Rothbury and trashing Bonnaroo lineups for two summers straight.
The funny thing is that the exact same thing sort of happened the summer before Rothbury started when some of the better known board members decided Langerado was the way to go instead of Bonnaroo. But there was ZERO animosity because they didn't troll the Troo Music Lounge bitching loudly about the presence of acts that weren't their taste.
There was also a definite feel that AEG was actively trolling the boards and feeding info for people to promote through the boards. It was just a different more obnoxious situation. And let's face it, most of the people here posting are doing so because we're excited about Bonnaroo.
This is a uber nerd analogy, but I would equate it to going into a Star Trek convention wearing Star Wars nuts and then getting upset when people start making fun of you.

Thanks for the explanation, dudezer. I've only been here for a year, and I can definitely see how that would be annoying. I haven't seen any of this animosity directly addressed during the entire year I've been here. If this has been a longstanding (though largely unspoken for the last year) feud, at what point will people be ok just dropping it?
Wow we can make an argument about anything in the weeks before Lineup Day. This is how I see it. Bonnaroo is awesome. Rothbury is awesome. Some people prefer one others prefer the other. Some people think they are equally great. There are annoying people on Inforoo and Infobury. It sucks that Roth isn't happening.
So I figured I'd come check out Inforoo, since Rothbury was cancelled this year. Say what you want about Infobury, but I've been on that site for a year and there was no trolling, no random flame-fests, and no crap that makes me hate message boards on the internet. I came here and this is the first thread I see. Great introduction. I'll go hang out at Infobury. The festival may be cancelled, but I'd rather be over there than on a board full of flamers and holier-than-thou douchebags.
