Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I hope you both realize that the way you continually try to mock and patronize me as well as your failed attempts to defend something that I love as well is a prime example of what I mean by saying that roo has changed.
Honestly it sounds to me that unless someone agrees that bonnaroo is the best thing that ever happened...period than their opinion is invalid be it me, hippie, or anyone else. We have friends that go to roo and friends that go to roth. Friends that have come and gone from both, I offer my sympathy for them and you each custie me for it? Ironic that neither one of use use the heady system... I WONDER WHY.
Cold shoulder from roovians, big surprise?
not since 2007, lol
so you can say that the festival that we love died years ago and we are supposed to sit and take it? hypocrite. ever think maybe bonnaroo isn't ruined, it's you?
i dont know why people here are saying that roth and roo are/were the bests. everyone knows that jam cruise is the best and headiest fest there is ;D no more than 3,000 fans, tropical paradise, different destinations every year, artists actually hangout with the fans (theyre on a boat and really have no choice), jam room every night and usually from 12-5 am, goodies galore, because of the price only true music lovers go and keeps most of the people who go just to get f*cked up out, etc, etc
mind you, this is just MY OPINION, and it was just thrown out there for fun, not to say anything bad about roth or roo

☮ superbek ☮ & hippieNaustin... by far the two board members who love to muck rake on this topic more than anyone else...it's tiresome and the end of Rothbury means the end of their argument and for that I am grateful...

lol what? did you even read this thread? i may have gotten caught up in the bickering in the past, but i've been over this board, and the tug-of-war between these fests, for a while.
and ftr, rothbury is still a better fest the bonnaroo IN MY OPINION. it may be gone for now, and perhaps we have seen the last of it. i'm just glad to know i was able to be a part of something so wonderful.
again, i am still excited to see the roo lineup, regardless of my attendance, or lack thereof. i hope it's great, and i hope people have a blast. i've never had a BAD time at bonnaroo.
it's this kind of bullsh!t back and forth, namecalling, poo flinging, etc that keeps me away from this board, and to me, sums up what the crowd at bonnaroo has become. honestly, it's not the music that makes bonnaroo not as great as rothbury, it's the people. would the same thing happen to rothbury eventually? sure. but as for now, the vibe from roth, and it's attendees are better FOR ME.
it's music. it's completely, utterly, and totally subjective. but in the end, it should be what brings us together, and not what causes sparring matches on the freaking internet.
i hope everyone has the summer of their lives, no matter where they end up

You do realize that I have never been to rothbury and the cancellation of rothbury is the first time I have ever said anything about the fest?
you guys have completely misunderstood me and obviously there is nothing I can do about that. My op wasn't about roo, it was about the loss of rothbury and my sympathy for the fans (of the same music) who attended that fest, which is very similar to bonnaroo.

Don't you love it when you get called out when you haven't even done anything? I think your name might have been brought up before you even posted in here, and I was called out in that same post when all had done was post a link that people were asking for. Crazy, right?
And, jeez! Superbeck?! She hasn't even been to Roth, says one thing about how the Roo atmosphere has changed over the years, and y'all jump all over her shit.
I know I just don't say a word about Roth or Roo if at all possible here because I know what will happen. And I partially understand it. But it is quite ridiculous to constantly be called out all over this board because we may have said something someone didn't like a year ago.

So, I am trying to bring this back to the origional topic. It is sad that Roth is not happening this year. It was a good fest (not saying that one is better than the other). I've had good times and met good people at all of the festies I've attended.
I just don't understand the article that I found stating something about the noice ordinance. We met, and hung out with about 10-15 locals who live on the property. They attended the festival, bought us beer, saved us seats, and we had so much fun with them. They did say they could hear everything going on when they were at home, but they also said they loved the fest, the people and the atmosphere the fest brought. I think there is more to the cancelation that we aren't hearing.

I have a feeling it didn't have anything to do with the town, but more with AEG. I would imagine that this would be a big economic help to a state that is really struggling, why would they want to see it walk?

Clair, you do get a bit wound up on the rothbury board. Please remember this is the roo board. I go from the Rothbury, to the Wakarusa, To the Roo, To the coachella boards and on each board, the majority of the people think their festival is the best. There is no best festival for everyone, only the best one for you. I think it would be easier to discuss what is the worst festival there is I didn't get to go the rothbury and now that really makes me mad. I also don't have a lick of faith that Rothbury will be around in 2011. The killed our Monolith festival here in Colorado but for now, at least we have the Mile High Festival. In a couple of ways, it really sucks, but it is our festival and I defend it. .... cr****

That might be a bit like why would Costco open up a new store in one city and close in another city. It's all economics. cr****

Do you guys think there will be alot more people at bonnaroo this year because of this? I know there was a ton of people who were on the fence on wether to go to roo or roth.
Johnny Cornseed was an American pioneer nurseryman who introduced corn trees to large parts of the east coast. He became an American legend, largely because of his kind and generous ways, his great leadership in conservation, and the symbolic importance of corn.

As for the cancelation of Roth. very very sad, i have been to both allgood and roox2 and i have heard all around that roth was quite the paradise. don't know if this has been mentioned on, here yet, sorry if it has, but there is allready a replacement festival in the works (for those who have their summer planned around it allready, to help all the businnesses that rely on the fest etc...)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It has recently come to our attention that AEG/Madison House does not support "Rothbury Homegrown" and Don McCormick's intentions. Because this is a message board dedicated to the official ROTHBURY Festival held by AEG and Madison House, the mods cannot support/advertise your homegrown festival.
We apologize if you do not agree with our decision, but this whole situation has everyone upset about something.
