Yeah, he was certainly on tonight and as a Yankee fan I have to complain that the HP ump gave him 4 inches off the outside corner and squeezed CC badly. Wouldn't have made any difference in the outcome but the complaining is obligatory.

The home plate ump tonight-specifically on his 'strike' call to end the game-is the exact reason we need some sort of computerized strike zone. I'm so sick of hearing about the "integrity" of the game and tradition and human error and blah blah. Shouldn't you want the umpiring system to be as efficient as possible?
The crappy thing is everyone immediately blames the umps for blown calls, whether it's in the field or balls and strikes. In reality, we should be blaming Selig for his stubbornness on the issue.

Great pitching by Oswalt and Hamels in the Philly/Atlanta series. Lowe pitched a good game as well on Sunday, but Hamels and the Phils bullpen were too much for the Braves bats. I'm most surprised by the success of our bullpen- especially Bastardo, Baez and Contreras. And that pinch-grand slam by chooch was something else. Phillies face the Nats next. I wonder how loud the boos will be for Werth when our fans invade their ballpark

looking forward to watching the weds night game on espn2.
i live out in ohio, so unless the phils are on tv nationally (espn, tbs, fox) or playing the reds, i only get to watch the highlights.
Brutal loss last night by the Jays. They scored 7 runs off King Felix taking a 7 run lead into the 7th inning. Only to lose 8-7 ughh... Here's hoping for a less crushingly disappointing game tonight.

Josh Hamilton out 6-8 weeks with a broken arm. I guess he tagged at 3rd and tried scoring on a pop-up hit in front of the dugout. He basically said after the game it was stupid of the 3rd base coach to send him home and he was thinking he shouldn't have as it was happening. That'll put a damper on Texas' good start a bit. He's also on both of my fantasy baseball teams. F word.

good thing the 3rd base coach didn't tell him to jump off a bridge.
that play was just as much josh's fault as it was the 3rd base coach's fault.

Mike Quade is really trying to reach TLR as biggest douche manager in baseball. He was pissed that Carlos Gomez stole a base against them a couple weeks ago when Milwaukee was up 5, and now he's mad that LAD attempted to steal against them up 8-1 in the 5th inning.

The Phillies completed a 4 game sweep of the Padres and there was good pitching all around. Hopefully we can end this road trip successfully and take the series from the Dbacks

I just saw a terrible Norelco commercial with Nick Swisher and Jonathan Paplebon, that kind of reminded me of this hilariously awful one from a few years ago.

Worse no-hitter, Liriano tonight or Edwin Jackson last year? Liriano's 1:3 K:BB ratio is pretty terrible, but Jackson took 150 pitches last year and had 8 walks.

I just saw a stat today about how bad Liriano has been this year, something like 4 runs allowed in all his starts. Definitely not the pitcher he was a few years ago.
