With Carlos Zambrano on the mound, the Nos. 7-8-9 hitters in the Cubs lineup make a combined $45.875 million this year. That may be the most expensive bottom third of a lineup in major league history.

Props to my boy, Andre Ethier. 29 game hit streak and still going. Too bad the Dodgers bullpen cannot keep this team in games.
I did an online draft on Yahoo and my internet cut out, so it auto-drafted me Ethier. I was really pissed at the time cause I forgot to queue up the pitchers I wanted and already had Hamilton, J. Upton and Choo. Guess I got super lucky.
I'm pretty sure Liriano tied for the worst no-hitter ever. Plus he had three double plays so there were only 24 official at-bats.
I got kicked out of not one, but two Mets games this weekend. They happened to be the two games they won against the Dodgers. Apparently, they designed the bullpen so the fans could interact with the opposing pitchers, but only in nice and positive ways. In Philly opposing relievers get spit on and security gives them a high five. I tell Vincente Padilla he looks like a "flat-domed neanderthal" and cops escort me out. Go figure.

That is a perfect description of Padilla, both his appearance and the type of bean ball pitcher he is. Its too bad youre a Mets fan, but cmon, saying Philly fans spit on relievers? There's more cops in ashburn alley by the bullpen than anywhere in the park. Its true that we can freely taunt the opposing bullpen, but only to a certain degree before being relocated.
Anyway, Roy Halladay vs Josh Johnson tonight should be a hell of a matchup. Luckily the Phils got off to a good series start with a win last night against the Marlins after losing 2 of 3 to the Braves.

Well, Mr. John Kruk went on Sunday Night Baseball and said they can do that, clearly playing it up a bit. But I also have made the trek to CBP for a few Mets/Phillies games. Generally, I get hassled mildly, nothing major. But I did see fans being relentless (and someone pour a drink into the bullpen) towards the Mets' relievers.
Personally, I think owners should realize that putting a bullpen that close to drunken fans and telling them NOT to taunt the opposing players is like putting a giant red button in front of a 5 year old with ADHD and saying "now whatever you do....don't push that button".
Whatever, I have tickets to every Friday and Saturday night Mets game (only because they're $13 face value, small market team in a big market city, FEEL THE EXCITEMENT!), so this is only the beginning. Me and my friends are making a youtube video of every encounter we have with security, should be fun.

Generally speaking, Mets fans have been treated well of late, much better than in the past. We just dont care about the Mets anymore here. It does suck that you got kicked out for just mocking Dodgers bullpen. I personally love being able to interact with the bullpen. I enjoy jeering the opposing bullpen and I enjoy it even more when I see young kids giving it to the bullpen. I've seen drunk and belligerent fans be relocated out of ashburn alley when their taunting becomes threatening or just nonstop profanity.
The last Phillies game I went to was vs the Mets and a Mets fan ran onto the field in the 9th inning, but didnt get tazed. I felt gypped!
I can't knock you for being a loyal fan. Fans that are loyal to their hometown team have my respect. I remember sitting through some miserable phillies seasons and being at the ballpark for their 10,000th loss. A friday for you when i can

They should have suffocated him with one of Kruk's used jock straps. I hate when idiots make me, by association, look like an idiot.
Maybe Jose Bautista's contract signing over the winter wasn't that bad for Toronto.
.368/.520/.868 and 16 home runs in 32 games. Wtf.
Don't you know? When he "switched his swing" it magically made him the scariest power-hitter in MLB. I think he found some of Bartolo Colon's happy juice.
It's a terribly run system. If it was more even it would be better. 4 out of the 5 AL teams the Mets play this year are above .500. 1 out of 5 the Nationals are playing are above .500. The Yankees/Red Sox have the same issue (Yankees 4/5 and Sox 1/5).
If they don't want to even out the schedule, then get rid of it. I hate the Subway Series anyway.
any of you into fantasy? this is my first year playing and loving my current team. 5-1 in my 10 man h2h espn league.
drafted bautista in the 4th, acquired braun (via trade furcal/crawford alexei ramirez/braun) at the beginning of the season, berkman off fa before he went on his tear, granderson off the FA. also picked up pineda sea, hanson, gio gonzalez, and matt joyce through waivers/fa. been lucking out or maybe the people in my league are stupid

Your league is stupid. But that's not your fault, so use it to your advantage (like you've been doing).

I guess I can see Pineda and Gio not being drafted in a 10 team league if it's just kind of casual fans, but was Hanson really not drafted? Aren't you a Braves fan?
Pineda is a bona fide stud. If only the Mariners could get some offense in the next couple years. Felix-Pineda will be a ridiculous 1-2 punch. It already is.
hanson was drafted 49th but some guy dropped him after his rough starts early on. i def. would have took him in the draft. gio was drafted but dropped as well. pineda went undrafted and i picked him up in april
