Kershaw's prime (say, 2011-2018) was so absurdly dominant that he has to be #1 here.
Verlander is #2 because since 2009, you could make the argument that his "prime" hasn't ended. He's been one of the best and most consistent pitchers in baseball. The man won Cy Youngs at 37 and 39. He's the fourth-oldest CYA winner and I could see him beating the record.
This leaves us with DeGrom and Scherzer, and DeGrom wins on stats alone.
Verlander and Scherzer are really close, could go either way. But as dominant as Degrom was, his peak was too short compared to the others to put him above them for me.

Yeah a lot of what people were debating seemed to be whether deGrom was the best option for a WS G7 scenario. Hard for me to say JV would be #1, even though I love the guy. He was a liability in all the WS he admittedly helped get us to (and G1 of the WC vs Seattle this year which fortunately ended with Yordan's historic multi-run walk-off HR).
