Such a waste. They asked Shohei after the game if the win and being the MVP was the highlight of his career and I just GUFFAWED. Like yes of course? What else could even come close for him thus far???
IIRC, the teams that Shohei said were finalists for him when he came to America were all west coast or midwest teams. I remember my red sox and yankee friends being pissed when they got passed on. Pretty sure the list went something like Angels, Dodgers, Mariners, Giants, Padres and Cubs or something like that. Would feel weird for him to now be interested in east coast teams. I'm sure for the right price it won't matter though.
Ok yeah I understand as much as the next guy Yankees bad I was wondering if there was an actual reason that it would be unlikely.
I just don’t think it’s an environment he would want to play in everyday.
Also, yeah, he was pretty open about not wanting to play on the east coast because of how easy traveling back to Japan is from the west coast. Can’t blame him there one bit.

Yeah idk. Dude's flying private for the rest of his life. I'd be kinda surprised if it mattered to him in the same way now, given he's more used to the US and will probably have his own jet. We're talking about the difference between a 14ish hour direct flight and a 12 hour one, per a quick Google.
