The Braves and Dodgers had wrecked starting rotations.
anyone who didn't see them getting bounced was lying to themselves
Atlanta was the favorites to win in all and the Dodgers were somewhere close behind them and maybe Hou.
The Braves had Strider and Fried, one of the best 1-2 punches in the game. The Dodgers had a suspect rotation with a bunch of rookies, a hurt Kershaw, and Lance Lynn... but they were still playing the Diamondbacks in the first round. I didn't expect much from them but certainly thought they would get passed AZ.
lance is 36 and had a an almost 6 era this year. losing urias was huge, that's 10% of their wins just gone for being a loser.

fried was hurt going into the playoffs too iirc
Lynn was the 4th or 5th best SP, even after Urias was gone. They probably shouldn't even have used him to start tbh. Their rotation was certainly held together with duct tape this year after losing May, Gonsolin, Urias, and Buehler not coming back as hoped, plus a not 100% Kershaw. But my point is that they still should have probably beat AZ with who they had. I'm not sure how hurt Fried was but if he was healthy enough to start I'm guessing he was good to pitch.
Either way, the SP was not the main reason for either Atl or LA's defeat. The Braves scored 0, 2, and 1 runs in their three loses. The Dodgers scored exactly 2 in all of their loses. And these were the two best offenses in the league.

fried was hurt most of the year.
and with atlanta specifically the pitching problems go deeper than just the starters
you're really gonna trust kirby yates, brad hand and pierce johnson in your pen? C'mon now.
Philly just had a better pitching staff and clearly a more potent offense. IMO this was clear to anyone paying attention to the Braves.
Also, Merrill Kelly and Zac Gallen are a better 1-2 than Kershaw and Bobby Miller in the playoffs.

Good prediction. I can definitely admit that at this point. I still think we have a chance. I do not understand how bad we have been at home, especially lately. Wish we'd gotten these runs last night and saved the bagel for Framber's game.

The series isn't over at all but yeah, the Rangers have caught fire. The Stros struggles at home are very weird. At least they battled back and made a game of it.
And Yordan for Josh Fields may be the worst trade my favorite team has made in any sport... ever.
