To get back on topic, the Nationals are looking good offensive wise. Can't wait when Bryce Harper returns from minors in June. Still a concern when it comes to pitching though. Have to see, season starts against the Braves.

The Nationals have fans?
Not making fun or anything. Just find it ironic they moved from Montreal cause of lack of interest, and they're still in the bottom quarter attendance-wise with a 3 year old stadium.
yeah, it's tough. Our best year was when they first moved and we were slightly above .500. Like you said, we inherited the Expos. But hey baseball is baseball and it's a good park

^^^ According to the local news, he's goin to the minors to get him use to the pro schedule and let him gain confidence. He's scheduled to come back in July, but I think it might be in June if he's crushing the minors. In spring training, the kid's been a stud. He went 7-18 (.349) and had 5 RBIs. Also, the first day of batting practice. His very first hit was a home run out of Nationals Park. I think he's got what it takes in the minors and considering the pitching situation. The Nats could use more hitting. I would hold on to him if he was on my fantasy team.
And never, never will I embrace that 'other' black and gold team!
I'm from the Boston area, and I could really care less about the Bruins. If they do good, whatever. But I don't follow them, don't own anything of theirs, actually have some Whalers stuff.

Sorry man, Spring Training stats mean nothing.
Confidence may be a factor for a young player or a career fringe player looking for his real big shot. Something tells me as a future HOFer he doesn't need the confidence boost.

Rookie of the year is always the toughest to predict. There's going to be someone who comes out of nowhere and has a great season, and some can't miss prospect is going to not get much MLB playing time for whatever reason.

Even with a shortened season, Bryce Harper for NL ROY. Strasburg would have been it last year if he played more than two months and didn't blow out his arm
Harper but up .443/.526/.987(!!) in JuCo, including 31 homers in 228 at bats, which is just un-fucking believable. All while he was supposed to be in high school as a 17 year old. I know the saying is "there's no sure thing" or whatever when dealing with prospects, but he's the closest to it in years.
Plus, Harper hasn't gotten in a bar fight yet so he's got that on Bush.

And so it begins my friends. Our day is finally here. I have the Dodgers, Yankees and Royals to look forward to today, and a phone call from my Dad ranting or boasting, depending on the outcome of those three games.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
